"What's the emergency?"

"It's Brent! He was in a car accident!"

"I'll drive us there."

The whole car ride was silent. Again. I hate awkwardness. Emily gave me the room number and stuff.

*hospital*

"How may I help you?"

"I'm looking for Brent Rivera. Room 206."

"Ok. It's just down the hall. First room on the left."

"Thank you."

We walk fast. All we can think of is we hope he's fine.

"Hello?"

"Sarah you're here!" Emily says crying.

"What happened?"

"He was riding in the car with one of his friends. The car in front of them stopped suddenly and his friend tried pushing down the brake but it was too late. His friend went flying out the window. He was killed instantly."

"I'm so sorry! Is Brent doing any better?"

"He hasn't woken up yet."

He had scratches and deeps cuts on his face. He didn't look good at all.

Seeing Emily makes me cry. So me and Cameron stayed with Emily for a few hours just trying to comfort her. Still no response.

"Sarah you should go home. It's getting late."

"Are you sure. I'll stay as long as you need me to."

"I'm sure. I'll be staying over night. So I won't be at school tomorrow. I'm just hoping he wakes up by tomorrow."

"He will. He's a strong person." I tell her smiling.

"Ok I'll text you tomorrow."

"Ok. Let's go Cam. Bye Emily."

I cried all the way home. I just couldn't bear seeing how hurt he was. We finally arrive at my house.

"You ok Sarah"

I just shake my head.

"Come here."

He gives me a hug.

"I just can't imagine how Emily feels. I just want Brent to be ok."

"He will. I promise."
