On June 25, 2017, five kilometers outside the city of Mosul in Iraq, the body of private James Harmon, age nineteen, from Beacon, Iowa was found. He had apparently succumbed to injuries incurred on the battlefield during an ambush of Coalition Forces. Sadly, it is believed he survived four days in the desert heat before being found by soldiers of his own division. His period of survival was evidenced by a short diary left on his field cell phone. Mysterious to the case, were the isolated footprints of what appeared to be a young woman's in the sand near his body. It is a detail currently unexplained and remains under investigation.
