"Dammit!"
That was her first word... After I said it when accidentally cutting myself... Dishes, huh? I held my finger, gritting my teeth, them grinding against each other as some of my red liquid streamed down my finger. I was just doing the dishes, then an unexpected knife pricked me. "Jackie, that's a bad word!" I say to her, going to clean off the blood. "God dammit!" She continued, jumping up and down a few feet behind me. She was only three... And I guess I should be happy she can at least say a few things other than 'Bah!' and 'La!'
I cleaned out my finger carefully, then looked back at her. I couldn't help but smile, seeing my second baby girl laugh and grin, looking down slightly, holding the bottom of her little white dress. She swayed slightly, looking like she was doing some sort of dance. I walked towards her slightly, her not noticing, causing her to yelp and fall back on her butt. I sat down, her giggling as she leaned forward, going on her hands and knees and crawling towards me. She situated herself on my lap, her tiny arms reaching up for my face. I gave her a smile. "Can you say dada?" I ask her. She giggled more. "Da..." She started, looking down for a moment to sound out the word. I waited, excitement filling me. "Da... D-... Dada!" She exclaimed, looking up at me happily.
I was taken away. "Yes! Dada!" I cheered. "Dada... Dammit!" She said, pointing to me, then throwing her arms up when yelling dammit. I shook my head, a smile on my face still. "No dammit. That's a bad word, honey." I say. I picked her up, standing to my full height and setting her down on the counter. "Dada..." She said, pointing to her bottle. "Are you hungry?" I ask, going over to one of her bottles. I watched as she gave me a nod. "Dada!" She kept saying. I felt myself smiling like crazy, glad to be home for this moment.
I made her a bottle, putting in some apple juice inside. "Heres baba," I say. "Baba!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms up before grabbing it and putting it in her mouth. I picked her up again, her holding the bottle close. I walked to our living room, setting her down on the bed. "Holly! Damian! You guys up!?" I ask, facing towards my other two children's bedrooms. I saw Holly peek out from her door. "I'm up." She said.
"Can you go get your brother?" I ask her. "Okay." She replied, stepping out of her bedroom and skipping down to her brother's. Her lightened, blonde locks swaying side to side as she skipped. I looked back and Jackie for a moment, her watching wrestling, where I should be. I took a day off to stay with my kids, so? With my wife gone these three had to hang out with babysitters for months. "Damian! Are you up!?" I heard Holly, looking at her as she knocked on the door. It opened shortly after, revealing my one and only son.
He walked into the living room with a long face. "Whats wrong buddy?" I ask, sitting down on the couch next to Jackie. He looked away, puffing out his cheeks.
"Damian?" I ask. He looked down, walking towards me, then sitting on the opposite side of me. "You okay?" I ask, concerned. He's been sorta mopey the passed few days, even though I was home. "Brother!" Jackie suddenly yells. Damian's eyes widen, looking at Jackie. "Did she just say...?" He asked, trailing off a bit, staring at her. "No way!" Holly exclaimed, running into the living room and popping a seat next to Jackie. "Can you say, sister?" She asked. "S-Si... S-Sister!" Jackie giggled out, hopping up and down in her seat.
I smiled more, staring down at the two older children, circling the one three-year-old, Jackie. "Can you say cat!?"
"C-... Ca... Ca... T.... Cat!" Jackie shouted, once getting it, smiling widely, showing her two top baby teeth.
"Can you say dada!?" Holly asked.
"Dada!" Jacklynn yelled, already mastering the word.
I heard Damian laugh, and then I put a hand on his back, patting it, scooting closer to the three. He looked at me. "Why can't you be here more?" He suddenly asked. "You're missing these moments of mine, Holly's, and Jacklynn's life. Why don't you stay more often?" He asked. I mean, I wish I can too. But they don't understand its the only way I got of putting food on the table, buying them their clothes, making sure they have a good childhood even if it is without me.
"I wish I could, bu-" Then it came to my head... I take them to my next show. Sure, maybe Jackie's too young, but they still get to see me, hang out, meet other wrestlers. "What?" He asked, looking up at me. "You three can come to my next show," I said, their faces lighting up. "I'm sure if I ask my boss I can get you guys in the front row. You'll be able to watch your sisters right? Then as we all perform we can keep an eye on you. Or you can even just hang out backstage with the guys." I imagined...
"Yeah!" He exclaimed. "We get to meet Ultimate Warrior, Jake The Snake Roberts, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Vince McMahon, Shane, Stephanie, his own kids! And Mankind, The crazy siccors guy, The Harts, The Rock, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, Steve Austin, Randy Savage, Goldberg, Bam Bam Bigalow, Dusty Roads, The Big Show, and John Cena!"
"Hey, don't forget the girls! Sable, Mickie James, Michelle McCool, Trish Stratus, and... And... Uh... A whole lot more!" Holly exclaimed. I chuckled, looking at Jackie who had the 'what the fuck is going on?' face. To be totally honest, I felt like Jacklynn would be in the WWE. I knew Damian was into the video games, Holly was into the dressing up and makeup stuff. And I know she is still just a baby, but I have really high hopes for her...
