Dear Readers,
If you are here, you are about to read Ignorance Is Swiss!. This is the first teen fiction book that I am focused on finishing, as everything is planned out and ready. It has taken me a while to start it, due to the extensive plot mapping I had to do, but I am now very excited to share it with all of you.
For this book, I have had one goal since the beginning, and one only: to make a book about nothing, but also a book about everything.
This book will be following the last year of Safia Diallo's high school career. Although there may be no crazy intense feuds or magic, this will be a simple book that highlights everything that high school is about, the good and bad: friendship, stress, insecurities, finding who you are, and the beginning stages of love.
Now, there will be obstacles along the way. Things that people refuse to talk about within high school will be highlighted here. My goal has always been to dedicate myself and my writing to normalizing difficulties that will make us stronger. High school is a difficult time, and I wanted to make a book that showcased the fact that it's okay to feel out of place. Something others and I never had.
I dedicate this book to my family, who has always supported me and my pursuit of writing. My friends, who I've used to help me gain inspiration for the struggles of this book. And to high school, for beating me up internally and externally, enough to make me cough out this story to share to the world.
