Chapter 22

~Colby's POV
So all three of us made it to the school in our cap and gowns. I can't believe I am actually going to graduate especially with my two best friends. It's been a long journey. I just hope she doesn't show up. She always said she would come to see me graduate I hope she doesn't. If you are wondering who I am talking about... well back in Kansas before Sam and I moved I was dating this girl. Her name was Rebecca. Now she wasn't one of the crazy, cheating girlfriends. We were actually a great couple but when she found out I was moving to go with Sam. She freaked out on me and broke up with me. She always told me that she would come see me graduate because she was a year older than me and graduated last year. I just hope she doesn't live up to the promise. I don't want anything to ruin what I have with Nicole. I actually really do love her.

(Time skip about an hour)

So we start the ceremony in about 30min. Nicole said she was running to the bathroom so Sam and I went to start lining up.
"Dude. Do you think she will actually come?" Sam asked nervously. I knew exactly who he was talking about.
"I don't know. I hope not. I really don't want her to because I know she will ruin it. She-" I was interrupted by Nicole walking back over to us.
"She- will what? She- who?" She asked with suspicion, looking at both Sam and I.
"Uhh... nothing." We both said back in unison.
"Okay? I am going to go get in my spot." She said kissing me and walking away.
I look at Sam,
"God I hope she doesn't come."

(Time skip)

" I present to you, The Class of 2015!" Our principal said through microphone.
Nicole, Sam and I all run towards each other for a group hug. I pick up Nicole and kiss her. All of our parents come up to us and hug us all. We get some pictures. And then I hear it. I hear the voice I never thought I would hear.
"Colby?" My head snaps around only to see her. The one and only Rebecca.
"Rebecca? What are doing here? What do you want?" She runs up to me to engulf me in a hug I didn't want nor did I participate in. I finally push her off of me and give her a unwelcoming, questioning look.
"I always told you I would come see you graduate. I wouldn't break my promise." She grins.
I look around to see all of our families looking at us both along with a speechless, surprised Sam and a on the verge of tears and anger Nicole.
I didn't know what to do. I was frozen. I couldn't say anything or do anything about this event that could possibly ruin my life forever. I look at Nicole again to only see a single tear run down her now red cheek and her start to walk away.
