A Unexpected Turn (GrayxClaire)

Chapter 3

Grays POV

I was just looking at some books that Mary wrote. Her books are amazing. Too bad I'm not really into books. I usually come here so I can see Mary. Her dark hair. Her beautiful glas- Oh no. I saw clarry standing there, then she leaved. She must of saw the whole thing! I stared at her and all she did was WINK. She better not tell Ann. I know how much she loves drama. I dropped my books and ran after her.

Once we got near the Inn she dropped.

"Ow" she said with pain

Maybe I could just run away and pretend I saw nothing. That sounds like a good idea! No no no, I can't be mean

"Are you okay?"

"Yea, but I don't think my sickle is." she said pointing to her broken sickle.

"I-ll fix it" I said.

"I don't think I have the money for it"

"Ill do it for free, and sorry for being a douche earlier"

"Thanks! And apology forgiven" she said, then she hugged me. It felt, good.

No no no i like Mary.

"Please don't do that again" I said then walked away. I can't be friends with her.

Claire's POV

I  went down to the farm and got some of the weeds gone and sold the rocks lumber that was on my farm. Then I heard a girl voice. A very cheerful voice

"Hey Claire! Want to join us for dinner?" Said the voice, I turned around and saw Ann

"Sure!" I said

--in the Inn-

I sat down next to Karen and Ann. It looks like it was a all girl club. We had Popuri, Ann, Karen, and Me.

"Okay ladies, in honor of the new girl, lets all order the 'special' toast!" Said Popuri

Special Toast??? Oh goddess, hopefully its not a pot brownie. And why are we eating toast for dinner?

Next thing you know, Ann brings out some weird looking cake. I took a bite and HOLY MOLLY IT TASTED LIKE TEARS OF THE HOLY GODDESS IN MY MOUTH.

"What is in this?!?!" I said

"Oh its just a special family recipe. We only serve it on special days" Said Ann

"We only have ate 4 times." Said Karen

I must know the recipe!

After I was done I said goodbye to the ladies and went outside to go to the farm. As I was walking home, I got distracted and hit my face against the pole. And the i heard a voice.

"Stop being so clumsy blonde" said the voice. The second I heard the line, I knew it was Gray.

"Shut up, or ill tell Ann" I said.

It feels so good to be able to blackmail someone.

--Morning--

I checked my mail and saw that I got the money from the lumber that I sold. I finally had enough money to buy some more seeds. I made a promise to myself that I would start to plant some seeds for the 3rd day of spring.

I headed down the path to the supermarket. Got some nice looking seeds and headed to the Inn for some breakfast.

"Hey Ann" I said walking in.

"Hey Claire" She said.

We sat there and chatted about the stuff I want to do for the farm.

But then we were interrupted by someone walking.

"Hi Ann. I got your physical done. You can now enter the swimming competition for this year" said the voice. I turned around and saw a gorgeous, tall, man about my age.

"Thanks Doctor! Meet Claire. She runs the new farm. The one the mystery man used to run." she said

"H-hi" I said

"Hi nice to meet you" he said

Next thing you know. Someone else walks in stomping. And you guessed it. It was Gray

Gray POV

I walked in to the Inn to get some breakfast. And then I saw Doctor Trent and Claire

"Move it! Ann give me some breakfast" I said. And while I waited, I of course watched

"I actually like swimming. Maybe I can come get a p-physical?

"S-sure sounds greats" the doctor said

Then they both blushed. I felt a little anger on me. But why? I don't like Claire. Or do I? No no no no no no. I like Mary. Even if Claire had those nice Blue Eyes.  No no no. Stop it Gray

Then of a sudden I hear this

"Want to go and eat with me later?" said Claire

"S-sure" Said the doctor

Yep I was pissed

"Never mind Ann in not hungry anymore." I said coldly and stomped out. I felt like kicking a lamp. So on my back to the blacksmith I kicked a lamp. Now its dented. And my anger is still inside of me.

I walked into the Blacksmith and slammed the door.

"Calm down Gray. I don't want to pay for some more doors again." Gramps said

"yea whatever" I yelled

"Gray, there is no need for that type of anger"

"YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND!"

"GRAY! YOU ARE NOT STAYING HERE LIKE THAT! Go mine for the rest of the day!"

Ugh. Maybe Mining will get my mind off things. But as I walked out the door I saw Popuri putting her ear close to the wall.

"STOP IT POPURI!"

"What is wrong with you Gray?" she said

"Its nothing" I said walking off.

THIRD PERSON POV

The three girls

Ann,Karen, And Popuri

Came in for their girl chat. They always do that after closing time. So they started once Claire left with Doctor.

"Okay Ann you first" said Karen.

"Okay, so earlier when Claire came in for food. The doctor came in to give me my physical for the swimming competition for the summer. And when he was done talking. I introduced him to Claire. And it was like love at first sight. Next thing you know she asks him to go to dinner with him."

"Awwwww" They said together

"Okay my turn!!" Said Popuri

"So when I was coming over to the Supermarket for chocolate. I heard Gray getting yelled at by his grandfather. But this time it sounded terrible. So I put my ear against the wall and heard them yell. When he came out i asked him what's wrong. He just brushed it off and said nothing." Said Popuri

"Wait that's weird. Gray came to my store with a normal attitude. Then he heard Claire ask the doctor for dinner. Then he got mad and walked out!" said Ann

"Do you think he likes Claire?" Said Karen

.....

"Nahhhhhhh" said the girls together

"Plus he likes Mary anyway" said Karen
