I relaxed in bed glad that it was now the weekend. I never want to get up. I looked at the water in the corner of my room and used my magic to make random figures in the air. I laughed as I made a dolphin and a turtle.

There was a knock on the door snapping my concentration and making the water drop. I fell out of bed and went to open the door. I leaned against the wall trying to act as if nothing happened. Jenna was standing at the door frame. "You good?"

I nodded. "Yeah, just fell."

She smiled. "You've been asleep all morning, I just came to check up on you."

"I'm fine," I replied. "Just laying in bed."

"Alright well, we have some people coming over for brunch. Be ready will you?"

I groaned. "Do I have to go?" I pouted giving her puppy eyes.

"Yup." she gave me a smile. "Your puppy eyes don't work on me sweetheart." she sighed.

"They have kids, one of your age and another younger, maybe you can show them your tree house."

Now it was my turn to laugh. "Yeah... No. I would rather bath in a pool of vicious snakes than share things with humans."

"You're human dear." I smiled.

"Am I?" I closed the door the mirror in the corner gave off a slight reflection of red in my eyes. Plopped down in my bed soon falling asleep again. I soon woke up to the bell ringing and I fell out of bed with a jump. I quickly stood up and got into a fighting stance. I then realized no one was coming for me.

I was kind of surprised I didn't have night terrors when I fell asleep. Welp, let's hope it doesn't happen for a while. I brushed my hair and looked at my clothes. It was a tank top and some leggings. I shrugged, good enough, I'm just here for the food. I made sure I had my sweater on so no one sees my scars.  I walked down the stairs to the living room with earbuds in and kept walking after a glance at the guests.

I was halfway through the kitchen when I heard my name being yelled. I ducked and rolled, standing up in a fighting position. Years of running and torture does that to you. I took a deep breath and rubbed the back of my neck. "Sorry," I mumbled. "What's up?"

"Come say hello to our guests. This is the Lopez family."

"Welcome to our humble abode," I said shaking the adult's hands. I saw another figure but ignored it thinking it was a fat pillow. " now if you'll excuse me I'm starving."

"Lana," Jenna warned. "Come meet their sons."

I was already walking away. "Jenna, you know I don't like people."

She was silent. "Come one Lana, please."

I sighed. "Fine, but I want food." I walked into the kitchen and made myself a Nutella sandwich. Chocolate is great.

I was about to go sit outside and eat my food when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I dropped the sandwich and spun around grabbing the person's arm and flipping him over my shoulder. I had him on his stomach with his hand behind his back. Then I noticed who it was. It was Kyrian, the Bad boy of the school. I sighed and let him go. When he got up I punched him in the stomach.
"What the hell was that for?" he yelled.

"Oh don't be such a girl, you made me drop my sandwich you monster. Now my baby must rest in pieces.... In the trash." I sighed. I picked it up and threw it away. I made myself another and went outside. I sat down on the hammock and ate my food happily. I was done and there was someone grabbing my leg. I looked down and saw a small child trying to get my attention.

"Oh hello, who are you?"

"I'm Nate," he claimed proudly.

I gave him a smile. "Lana."

"You're pretty, I like your lips," he said.

I gave a laugh, "They're blue,"

"I know! That's what makes it cool."

I smiled. "Do you want to see some magic?" He nodded. "Come with me." I got his hand and I walked him over to the back yards big tree. I tapped a button and down came a rope ladder.

He laughed. "Do you want to go up?"

He nodded. "Alright Nate, you go first," I made sure to help him go up so he didn't fall. When we made it to the top he plopped in and laughed. I sat myself down in a beanbag in the corner and he sat in another.

"This is cool," he said. I laughed.

"Thank you. I built it myself."

"Was it hard?"
"No, it was fun actually."
"Where's the magic?"
I smiled. "Ready?" he nodded. "Alright, look at that bean bag." He watched it. "Now look outside," he did as I said, "You see your brother?" he nodded. Kyrian was walking around the lawn looking for us. "Alright, repeat after me- Falia alla." he did as I said. I used my magic to make the bean bag float. He gasped. "Alright give me your hand." he did as I said. "Mittent," I whispered and thrusted his hand forward. The bag hit Kyrian in the head, he cursed and looked around. I laughed and Nate was laughing jumping up and down.
The tree house's bottom broke and he fell through. I thrusted my hand out and he stopped falling. There was a gasp. I groaned in pain trying to hold him up. He was close to the ground but Kyrian still couldn't reach him. I said a small spell and water came out from our fountain, It created a small bed and I dropped him onto the water that then dropped him down softly. He got up and looked up at me looking out the window. He smiled and laughed. "Again!"
I sighed in relief and plopped down, well my secrets out to Kyrian, might as well use that to my advantage. I gathered up more water with my eyes flashing red and jumped out. The water made a funnel to drop me down softly. I wiped the hair from my face and stood up. Kyrian stared in confusion and ran a hand through his black hair. "What the fuck."
