Beyond Perfect: Shana's POV
Living without him was hard. Everyone had one, I didn't. I didn't have a dad. But I had someone that took his place perfectly, gave me all the love he would. Maybe even more. She is the reason I'm a strong girl today. My mother. I'm 29. I got married two years ago when I was 27. That day I left my mother. It hurt, because she's one of the best things that I can call mine. She'd been there for me through the years. She'd handled me through all my teenage dramas, fights, arguments and heartbreaks. She is the strongest woman I have ever met. She says that I look just like my dad. I do. I have his dirty-blonde coloured hair, his blue eyes, his toothy grin. But. what my mother doesn't know is that, I have all of her fighting spirit, her self-confidence and most of all her courage. She raised me to never take crap from anyone, I don't and never will.
I'm lying on this hospital bed with a little baby near the cot beside me. Just like my mum had, I found the perfect guy too. His name was Max. Just like dad's. Hmph! Karma sometimes... it was hard to believe in love. But with an amazing mother by my side, I did. I learnt to break those walls I'd built around my self. Because I was scared, scared Max would leave one day just like dad did. But, what my mother taught me was to take risks, over and over again. My mum is 52. But she looks just like she did in her wedding photos. The same brown hair. The same gorgeous smile. But most of all the same strong personality. They past three years, she'd been fighting cancer. it broke my heart every day knowing that one day she'd leave. But she didn't. She fought that horrid disease. If there's anyone I couldn't live without it'd be mother any day.
We'd been through it all. Together. She was everything I'd want for a mother. She was mine. Just mine. Shanaya Claire James.Beside me, I have a baby girl in the cot. My girl. I promise, I'd take care of her just like my mum did. And her name is Claire. Just like mums. Claire Gee. I didn't get any of mums features. But she did. She had mums perfect mocha-brown eyes. Her gorgeous skin tone. Her light brown half wavy half curly hair. She was just like mum.
Mum, you always wanted to raise a princess right? You did. You raised a princess, who'll be just like you. You never made me feel like I needed a dad. You were my dad, my mum but most of all my everything. I can't lose you mum, because if I did, I'd lose my best-friend, my smile, my laugh,my favorite person, my family, my world. i'll never forget you mum, never. When I was a tree at the school play in year2 you told me you liked my performance the best. that I was the most gorgeous girl. You believed in me not once, but every time. Your lil' girl has finally grown up, to be the princess you'd always wanted. But without you,id be no where. Thanks for being beyond perfect every time. You'd been an amazing daughter, a beautiful wife, caring mother now it's time to be a loving grandmother. But mum, i'll never be able to thank you enough for everything. You'll always be my mama and that one person I'd never forget. no matter how old I am today, how wise, how strong, how beautiful I'll always and always be your lil Shana.I promise.
Love,
Forever your lil girl,
Shana
