This is kinda just a pile of fluff, honestly. I was gonna do a first date type story but...eh, I just didn't. I like this either way though, so I hope you do too!

Miryenn lay upside down on the couch, midday sunlight drifted through the windows, illuminating each room on the cozy little apartment that she called home. A soft breeze drifted lazily through the open windows, lifting the pages of her book up slightly as she read. In all truth, she wasn't all that focused on what the book said, having already read it cover-to-cover more than once. Instead, she used the time to let her mind wander and get lost in thought. Her life could be quite a busy one, and while she usually like the hustle and bustle of everyday life, sometimes she just liked these little moments of quiet. Having a moment to sit back and breathe was kinda nice.

She payed no mind to a nearby door as it opened, or as someone waled into the room from the hall, a small box full of pastries in her hand.

The newcomer shut the door with her foot before making her way over to the small couch. After a half second of hesitation, she flopped down lazily with a content sigh, laying on top of Miryenn as she stretched across the couch and dropped the box on the floor. Miryenn looked away from her book to glance ant the person on top of her.

"Hey carrot cake."
"Hey Mi. What're you reading?"
"A book."
"Mi."
"What? You asked." Miryenn grinned, and Coriander shot her an annoyed look.
"What book?"
"That book about the guys and the mice, whatever its called."
"Of mice and men?"
"Yeah, that."
"Why do we even have that?"
"I dont know, i think its your brothers or something."
"Hm, mabye."
"Probably."
A moment of comfortable silence passed before Miryenn spoke
"So, the baking went well, I'm guessing?"
"Hm?" Coriander blinked, pulling her mind back from her thoughts.
"That thing you and Spade were doing? With that new cookie recipe? How'd that go?" Coriander's eyes lit up as she reached for the food-filled box, fiddling with it in an attempt to get it open. Meanwhile, Miryenn continued to ramble on.
"Well, actually, considering that you got back early I'm guessing that it went well, but, then again, that could mean that it went badly. Oh, I hope it didn't go badly! But then again..again, how would it have gone badly? I mean, it's not like the two of you would ever really dislike each other. I guess the worst that could happen is that you just couldn't really make the cookies right, but even then-", Coriander, finally having figured out how to open the box, shoved one of the cookies into her girlfriend's mouth, cutting off her tangent. She shifted so that she could face Miryenn as she took the sweet from her mouth and took a bite.
"So, tell me, is it good, or is it good?" Miryenn's eyes lit up.
"Skies and sweeties, this is amazing!" Coriander giggled quietly as Miryenn scarfed down the last of the cookie. "What kind of cookies even were those?" The bright-eyed baker reached down and pull out another cookie as she replied,
"Chocolate and caramel." They both stared at the cookie in Coriander's hand, staring at the swirls of ginger-brown caramel as the mingled with the gold-tinted cookie.
"It took us less time than we thought to get them done, actually."
Miryenn looked up at her, only a bit surprised.
"Really? I'da' thought they'd take all day to get right! They so good, how'd you two figure it out so quickly?"
"Well...I may or may not have spent the last few afternoons working on them in my spare time."
"Really? I thought you were working on those little sandwich cookie things? What're they called again? Starts with an m...macaroons! Honey and chamomile macaroons! That's what they are! Anyhow, I thought those were what you were working on."
"Well, then you'd be wrong."
"Yeah, I guess...wait, how many afternoons is a few afternoons, exactly?"
"Oh you know, one or two days...or weeks" Miryenn snorted as she laughed at her girlfriend's answer.
"What?"
"I think two weeks counts as more than just a few afternoons, caramel cookie."
"Oh, whatever, same thing. Plus, you should be teasing me."
"Oh? And whys that?"
"Because," she brought her face closer to Miryenn's, facing her close enough that their noses brushed, "I can find some way to tease you too."
"Really? Cause I bet that you can't find a single thing to tease me for." A grin crept its way up Coriander's face.
"Hmm, lets see...you do have an awful lot of nicknames for me...and they all seem to be suspiciously desert themed."
"Oh, admit it gingersnap, you love my little nicknames. Plus, you love sweet things. I mean, you are a baker, after all."
"..eh, you got me there. Well, what about your...tendency to ramble, hm?"
"Oh, you say that like it's an issue. You couldn't hate my ramblings if you tried. Plus, if I ramble a lot, than you stammer just as much. Granted, that's mostly around new people or people you don't know to well, so you don't really do it as much around, say, me or Spade or something, but still!"
Coriander chuckled.
"alright, alright, you've got me there too."
"Just admit it cream puff, you've got nothing."
"I would...but no." Miryenn gasped overdramaticly, mock hurt and shock gracing her face as mischief sparkled in her eyes.
"You are so stubborn, cupcake, so very stubborn! Your lucky I love you to pieces or I would not stand for this!" Coriander sat up quickly on the arm of the small couch as she threw her arms in the air in celebration.
"Haha! I am invincible!" Miryenn shoved her lightly with her foot, pushing her off the couch and onto the ground. She blinked, confused, before looking up at Miryenn, who had turned upright and was reaching for the box of cookies on the floor.
"Mi. I love you to bits and pieces, but you suck."
"You can mock all you want, but your still on the floor and I still have the cookies, and I'm holding these for ransom." Coriander grinned.
"So, what do I need to do to get them back?" Miryenn moved over on the small seat.
"Come sit with me and tell me all about your day." Coriander smiled sheepishly as she climbed onto the couch next to her girlfriend, placing a soft kiss upon her cheek as she took the cookie box before beginning her story.

I relate to miryenn on a spiritual level because I, too, have a tendency to ramble. I love these two so much, they're so fun to write. Thanks for reading. Happy pride!
