Chapter 17: Relief

Cliff Sanctuary

Ethan

I can't believe I told her about my wings and my past! I feel great not having to keep that secret any longer. I'm glad I can trust her, but I don't think she's ready for me to tell her about my powers. That would be too much for her. Ever since I was 5 I've had these powers or I mean I discovered them at age 5. One that I use daily is invisibility, I cloak my wings to make them invisible from humans. I am half human half angel therefore I'm not fully immortal. I can get hurt and if it's bad enough then I can die but other than that no I cannot die. All I could do was sit here and stare at her. She was so beautiful. But I can't help but think about how my mother was Grace's mother. I kissed my sister!? I shook my head so I wouldn't end up throwing up at the thought of me and my sister together. Ew! I'm so glad that I really didn't want her. I wanted Adelina and here she was sitting in front of me in the most beautiful place of all, enjoying a picnic with me. Even after I showed her my biggest secret. She saw me just staring at her and she started laughing.

"What?" She smiled at me so sweetly.

"Nothing." I smiled back.

"Obviously it is something." She looked down and started twirling her fingers again.

"I just can't believe that I'm here with the most beautiful girl, in the most beautiful place of all." This time it was I who blushed and looked down when she looked up at me.

"See, I told you it was something!" She said playfully punching my arm making me look at her into her eyes.

"I love you, Adelina."

"I love you too, Ethan." She smiled at me as I reached up and took her cheek in my hand and brought her face down to mine, in a kiss.

I feel like I should really tell her about my powers. One of my favorite powers of all though is if I concentrate and imagine an object and I focus all my power on it, it will manifest in front of me. I can't do it all since it drains my power and leaves me weak, so I try not to do it a lot. I looked up from my lap when I heard Adelina stand up from the blanket, the sun was setting and it was so beautiful she turned from the marvelous view to look down at me and she smiled. I guess that meant time to stand up. I stood up and walk over to her and an idea popped into my head. I grabbed her hand into mine and I slipped my other hand on her lower back and pressed her body closer to mine then I started to sing the perfect song for this moment while we danced in the light of the sunset.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Have I told you there's no one else above you?

Fill my heart with gladness,

take away all my sadness.

Ease my troubles that's what you do.

For the morning sun in all it's glory;

greets the day with hope and comfort too.

You fill my life with laughter,

and somehow you make it better.

ease my troubles that's what you do.

There's a love that's divine.

and it's yours and it's mine like the sun.

And at the end of the day;

we should give thanks and pray

to the one, to the one.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Have I told you there's no one else above you?

Fill my heart with gladness,

take away all my sadness.

Ease my troubles that's what you do.

There's a love that's divine.

and it's yours and it's mine like the sun.

And at the end of the day;

we should give thanks and pray

to the one, to the one.

And have I told you lately that I love you?

Have I told you there's no one else above you?

You fill my heart with gladness,

take away my sadness.

Ease my troubles that's what you do.

Take away all my sadness,

fill my life with gladness.

Ease my troubles that's what you do.

Take away all my sadness,

fill my life with gladness.

Ease my troubles that's what you do.

She looked up at me as soon as I stopped singing. She smiled with tears in her eyes and I moved my hand from her waist up behind her neck and leaned down and captured her lips with mine. She reacted by running her hands through my hair deepening the kiss. It felt like it did back in the beach cave. It felt like this is where I'm meant to be. Maybe I'll actually have a chance at the love my mom and dad had. But first I need to find out how she'll react when she learns all my powers and what I'm capable of.
