"Papa, may I come in?"
"Yes beta. Please come in."
Shravan closed he door as he entered his father's cabin. He had been dreading this moment. The moment he was going to tell his father that it was time for him to leave for London. And he knew for sure that he wasn't going to be very pleased with him. But he had to do it no matter what the consequences were.
"Papa, I have something important to talk about."
Ramnath looked up at him surprised
"Why are you still standing? What's the rush, son? Take a seat first!"
"Oh! Yeah, sorry. It slipped out of my mind."
Shravan mumbled as he slumped down on a chair. Ramnath frowned at him
"Shravan, is everything alright beta?"
Shravan could sense the tension in his father's voice. So he spoke up quickly
"Everything's fine, papa! It's just-"
He was cut in the middle by a knock on the door
"Yes?"
Ramnath' authoritative voice nearly boomed.
Shravan turned around to see who interrupted their conversation. It was not everyday that he could gather up the courage to tell his father about his departure and now that he had it in him, some nasty person decided to stop him in his track.
To his utmost dislike, the door opened to reveal Suman.
Shravan rolled his eyes
"Wow! What timing you have Sumo! Sorry not Sumo but Suman! Suman Tiwari!"
He wanted to say that loud. But not in front of his father. He had no idea that they were not in talking terms. To him, they were still the best buddies as he had seen them back in their teenage. But he missed a great part of the story.
The real story! And not the fake one that they were displaying to their families. Their friendship was now a big fat lie.
"Suman, come in!"
Suman had a smile on her face, but the moment her eyes fell on Shravan; her expression changed to a bitter one.
As if she had tasted something sour.
But she decided not to mind him anyway. She had work to do.
She made her way to the other side of the desk; totally ignoring Shravan as if he didn't exist.
She opened the file she brought with her and placed it on the desk in front of Ramnath.
"Nanu told me to give you this file."
Ramnath nodded
"Okay, let me have a look."
Ramnath started going through the document and soon he was lost in it. He was murmuring at random which helped Shravan divert his attention to him but as his eyes unconsciously landed on Suman, he found her staring at him.
Well, seemed more like a glare though.
What was the matter with this girl?
Shravan turned away but he could still feel her eyes on him.
