She groaned and rolled out of bed, her alarm clock still ringing in her ears. She lay there for a minute, looking up at the ceiling, tangled in the blankets. She managed to wiggle her way out of them. She walked into her bathroom and took a hot shower. She finished and heard the dripping water from her hair fall onto the floor. She dressed into a black shirt that was laced on the sleeves, black skinnies, and black boots. She managed to look at her scarred wrists before sliding bracelets onto them, being sure to cover them up. She straightened her dark brown hair and applied her usual makeup: black mascara, black eyeliner, and gray eyeshadow. She grabbed her bag, phone, and keys and got into her old car. It was the same routine everyday.
She parked in the school parking lot. Another day at school. It was finally Friday..the 13th. She hated how everyone would always over talk about it being Friday the 13th. To her it was stupid. She walked into the buzzing school hallway, turning to her right where she saw her best friend Charity.
"Hey, have you seen Blaze?" Charity asked. Blaze is their other best friend. Well, it's her nickname. Her real name is Crystal and she hates that name.
"No, she's probably ditching with Marcus again." Kristen sighed.
"No doubt." Charity nodded closing her locker.
Just then Marcus and Blaze made their way over to them, hand-in-hand.
"There you are." Charity said.
"Here we are." Blaze moved her bangs out of her eyes.
"We thought you were going to ditch again." Kristen said taking a sip of her water.
"We were going to but we wanted to know if you wanted to join." Marcus smirked.
"Gladly." Kristen and Charity nodded.
They pushed through the crowded hall and finally made it outside. They got into Marcus' truck and headed to their hideout they always go to when they ditch. It was this little abandoned park. They found it in the summer and fixed it up. They were the only ones who knew about it and planned to keep it that way. She sat by the lake and thought about everything that has happened in the past year.
Hours passed and they knew school would be letting out now so they drove back to the school and shegot in her car and left. When she turned the corner into her neighborhood, she saw a familiar car parked on one side of her driveway. She knew who it was.
Louis.
Louis Tomlinson.
Her brother's best friend...before he died.
She took the key out of the ignition and made her way up the steps and into her house.
"You skipped school again? Really?" He asked.
"Yeah, do you have a problem with it?"
He sighed and walked up to her.
"Why do you hang out with them? They changed you."
She rolled her eyes, "Quit saying that! I changed myself for the better. And since when are you to tell me who I can and can't hang out with? I'm not a baby and last time I checked you weren't my brother." Her voice cracked at the last part.
She never really got along with Louis. He promised her brother Josh that he would take care of her while Josh was in the hospital.
"I never told you who you can and can't hang out with. All I'm saying is that you've changed. And it wasn't for the better. I don't think he would like it but you know what? It's your life. I just came to drop this off. Bye." He said coldly and bumped her shoulder as he walked past her.
She rolled her eyes and walked upstairs, throwing her bag on the way.
