I was sitting in the office at school. Finally a freshman. I've been waiting for this year my entire life.. but it's not as great as I thought it would be.
It was stressful with a bunch of homework and it was more challenging to keep my grades up.
I was waiting in the office for my doctor appointment that was 30 minutes away.
"Carla your mom is here," the secretary said softly.
When she came in she had a bright smile on her face, my mom was young.. but I never knew she would get so many wrinkles in so little of time, but that was weeks later from this day.
I didn't think that this day would EVER come. There was no doubt that I would ever be expecting this.. nor any of my friends.
I didn't smile.. not for a while did I smile.
