Chapter 4 - "Who on earth is Darren"

It's been 2 hours since I got to Austin's house, I've been lying on someone's bed with Ariana in my arms sleeping, I was just looking at the ceiling wondering who's room I'm in. Ariana wouldn't leave my side when i came back, so I was here, in someone's room, myself, Austin didn't come back upstairs, he probably thought that I needed space with Ariana for a while. I felt my eyes get heavier and then darkness took over me.

I got woken up by someone's soft voice and getting gently shook around. I stretched, rubbed my eyes and opened them to see Austin standing there looking at me with a smile on his face, "good morning sleepy head", I gave him a confused face and he chuckled, "you fell asleep in my room so I just left you here, your parents went home with your brother and sister, it's morning now". I nodded and looked around the room, I'm in Austin's room, the walls are a dark red colour, his carpet is red, wow this boy loves red, and he also has pictures on his wall. I got out of bed and walked towards the pictures that are on the wall next to the door, weird place to put them, but oh well. I looked at them, it was pictures of him and some people I don't know, "that's my family, my mum, dad and my sister Flora", I nodded and started to walk around his room and just looking at his stuff, I felt his eyes on me but I ignored them because I knew the eyes belonged to Austin. I got to his window beside his bed and looked out to the back garden, his back garden had the woods around the house so it didn't surprise me that it was trees, it does have a huge grass bit for the kids to play on and they were told to NEVER go into the woods alone and also to NEVER go in without an adult with them. I can see why, I mean the woods are a scary place to be in and to get lost in them is even scarier. I suddenly saw something glowing in the woods, I looked even closer and saw it was a pair of eyes, and not just a pair of normal eyes but werewolf eyes. I backed up and tripped over something and landed on my bum but I kept on backing away until I hit Austin's wall. He came over to me looking confused and worried and all I could do was point to the window. He ran over to the window and looked at me confused, "Jade, there's nothing there, are you ok?", Great now I'm imagining things, "I, I saw eyes, werewolf eyes, I'm not crazy". He looked even more confused than ever now and I'm just sounding stupid, "I never said you were, I'm just saying that there's nothing there". I stood up slowly and just stood there looking at the ground, "I know what I saw" I said looking up at him slowly.

He walked slowly towards me and he looked at me differently, the look he was giving me made my heart flutter, he got closer and closer till we were face to face. He started to put his hands beside each side of my head just looked into my eyes. He smiled which made me smile until I couldn't smile anymore, he started to lean in closer and his lips brushed mine, then suddenly

BANG! BANG!

We jumped back from each other and just looked at each other really awkwardly, we heard another bang and screaming so we ran downstairs as fast as we could, Austin was way faster than I was and also his family is downstairs witch made him go even faster. When I got downstairs I felt my heart drop and shatter into a million pieces. There was blood everywhere, I walked into the living room to find Austin's back to me, his head down. I walked slowly towards him looking around, "Austin, wh, what happened?", he turned around slowly and I saw he was reading a note, I also saw that his eyes were watery but he didn't want to cry. I put my hand on his shoulder and he looked up at me so quick it kind of scared me. He gave me the note and I took it off him and started to read it,

Dear Austin,

You may know now that I have your family, your adorably little sister Flora, your lovely kind mother and your powerful dad, give me your mate or your family dies, right in front of you and your precious mate, then I will kill her family right in front of her to, oh little Ariana, so young and so clueless on what's going on, and Adrian, who can forget tough guy Adrian, your choice, make it fast, I don't like waiting, you of all people should know that

From Darren

I was crying at this point, why would he do this?, I don't even know who this guy was, "who's Darren?", Austin didn't even look at me when I asked him, this made me angry. I put my hand on his shoulder again but he just pushed it off, "Austin who is Darren?", again didn't answer me, so instead he started walking away, this got me to my breaking point that I didn't know I had, "AUSTIN STOP AND TELL ME, WHO ON EARTH IS DARREN?".
