It was like any other day at the shop. Carloz sat behind the counter on his not so comfortable chair, hair tied up in a bun and swishing his tail in annoyance with one thing on his mind: It was hot as hell.
It had been that way for a couple of days now and Carloz's boss hasn't bothered calling someone to fix the Cooling System because it was "wasn't that hot" and he told Carloz to "quit whining and work". A familiar ringing noise broke Carloz's train of thought and he quickly stood up, (yeah he hated his boss but he sure as hell wasn't getting fired). His body relaxed immediately when he saw a familiar German Shepherd mix."Hey, Thaila",Carloz greeted with his usual trademark grin as he leaned against the counter.
"Hey!" Thaila greeted back with questionable excitement. Carloz raised a thick brow, "What's up with you?".
"This!", Thaila exclaimed, her tail wagging with little contained excitement as she slammed a paper on the shop counter. Carloz skimmed his eyes over what looked to be a flyer. He chuckled in amusement when he read what it was.
"Really Tay, an indoor amusement park? Come on grow up." Carloz said as he slid the paper towards her. Others would have thought that comment was rude but Thaila took it in full stride and her grin only widened. This time she leaned on the counter as well.
"Yes old man, really. Seriously, you need to learn how to have fun. The amusement park is a good place to go, plus it's indoors! Do I have to remind you how hot it's been lately? You need to loosen up."
"First of all", Carloz started as he straightened up, "I'm only 4 years older than you so think again before you call me old man and second, " Carloz sat in his chair, "I have work."
He sat back in his chair and waved his arms around as if to remind Thaila of their environment. Carloz grinned as Thaila stood there for a second, her expression somewhat unreadable. Then she leaned over the counter and raised an eyebrow."So your version of work is sitting on your butt all day, Conzales?"
Damn, that knocked Carloz's smirk off his face fast. Thaila won that one. With a sigh of defeat he grabbed the flyer on the counter again and for a second time, skimmed over it. After a few seconds he looked up at Thaila who was now mimicking his earlier grin.
"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT WE'LL GO! Jeez", he roared, not of anger, but annoyance. Thaila practically cheered as she hopped around the shop.
"We'll leave after my shift", he mumbled as he started to busy himself with little nick-nacks behind the counter.
