Chapter 20

I sit on a table and file my nails as the twins practice their little twincest show. I sigh and look over at Kyoya, my heart beating faster. I shake my head.

I know I can't let myself be sad over an engaged man. But damn it I can't help it. I love him. I wish I would've known sooner, although maybe it's for the best I didn't. 

I groan, getting up off the table and walking over to Kaoru. "Hey, Kaoru, can we talk?" I take his hand and lead him over to the corner of the room. "You, me, dinner date. Pick me up at 6:30, take me somewhere nice, keep it simple." I walk away.

---Kyoya's POV---

Willow walks over to the tea cart, standing in front of me. She pulls out her phone and I lean over a little to look at what she's doing (not like it's exactly hard). I see her text Haruhi saying...She asked Kaoru out. I see. Whatever. I'm engaged.

I look over at Kaoru. He has a deep blush and looks stunned. Willow leans into his neck and assumes kisses it before strutting off. 

---Willow's POV---

The host club goes on as normal, except towards the end when Kyoya's fiance comes in slowly. She talks with Kyoya as I try listening. Kyoya started clicking his pen over and over, causing me to lose focus on where I'm trying to listen. I sigh in frustration. I take a deep breath and decide to try to read her mind. I start trying to focus in on her and start getting glimpses of her thoughts. I start to shake as I grip the table. I know I'm nowhere near powerful enough to do this, but I need to try. My vision starts to blacken but I continue to push through until everything is dark.

I wake up slowly with a pounding headache. My brother is standing over me and I look up at him. "What?" I ask as I slowly sit up. 

He sits next to me and grabs my shoulder. "What were you thinking? That could've killed you." 

"What do you mean?" He rolls his eyes. 

"You know what I mean, Willow! You should not be trying to read minds. You wouldn't have passed out from anything else." He sighs. "What was so important you had to risk your life?"

"I lost hearing of what Kyoya was talking about with his fiance. So I thought I would read her mind and try to hear that way." He shakes his head.

"You don't risk your life over someone you can't or don't have." He sighs and stands up. "Have you thought of telling him how you feel?" I shake my head. "Alright then, stupid, tell him." I shake my head and slowly stand. I look at my phone. 

"I have a date to get ready for." I run upstairs. I go get ready and wait for Kaoru who not surprisingly was right on time. He pulls up in a limo and gets out, holding black roses. My favorite. I smile and run them inside before coming back out and getting in the limo. 

We chat lightly until we get a very fancy restaurant. We walk inside and get a table on the dock, getting an amazing view of the ocean. "You know, I'm surprised you didn't cancel tonight. You took a really hard fall. I, uh, took you home." He says shyly. 

"That's very sweet." I smile before we order drinks.  

The night was amazing. He pays obviously and we head to the parking lot.

---Kaoru's POV---

She leans against the limo and looks at the sky. I take a deep breath and go into kiss her. She kisses back and wraps her arms around me. I dip her and soon pull away for air before seeing Kyoya stand in front of his date. I accidentally drop Willow. As she stands, she avoids looking at him and gets in the car.
