As cosmo and I walked down the dusty sidewalk past the desperate kids selling disgusting lemonade and used pens we talked about nothing in general we turned the corner dropping a coin in the pail next to the burned orphanage it still smells of smoke even though it burned down years ago once in awhile cosmo would spot the little girl picking up the pail or asking for food clothes and blankets he describes her to me a sad skinny little girl with dirt and charcoal all over her face hands and feet she was under fed but never took all of an offering her skin had cuts most healed over she had dark eye s but lightened if you gave her candy she had skinny lips and small eyes a thin nose and a long chin her hair dark and dirty once in awhile it would be in a loose braid she had skinny fingers and a strong posture but the one most noticeable thing was the locket around her neck the locket was round.  with rubies and diamonds dotting the edges in the middle was amethysts in the shape of a heart with one emerald in the middle. It was somehow polished and sparkly. I snapped out of thought as cosmo whispers in my ear,"here she comes!" I smile hopefully looking nice instead of creepy. I hear her footsteps getting closer "hello!",the girl says sweetly, "would you mind sparing some food, money,or clothing!" She has a British accent...I think? Maybe it's Australian...or...Irish? I don't know I almost laugh at my attempts to place the accent . The girl must have noticed "why are you laughing?",she asked "can't you see me in my pain!"
"I've lived out here for years now!"
"And your laughing!"
"Actually I can't see you!" I replied "I'm blind."
"Oh...",she replied embarrassed,"sorry..."
