How do I start this off...?

Well, this me just typing away in the middle of the night, being philosophical, like the weirdo I am.

So, let's begin.

(PS, I'd prefer it if you read this with the mindset that I'm a hormonal teenager. Angst. Though, I've been having some of these thoughts for a few years)

Well, here's something I've always found weird about myself, I adore fantasy, sci-fi, and anything magical or otherworldly. Not necessarily anything that has to do with horror per-say, just supernaturals.

Well, this might seem like it would throw that outta the window but, I also love science. Biology specifically. So you could imagine my brain being a bit annoyed with how many jumps in logic some fantasy stories take. Also, don't even get me started with magical creatures. That's a long-as-heck rant for another day.

So, you might be wondering, why Sylph would you have an interest in two things that always seem to be butting heads with each other? Simple. I have fondness for both.

...

Okay, here's an actually reason why.

Do you realize how we're basically in the future by 2000's standards? And in the 2000s, half the crap we have would be considered sci-fi. Science Fiction. I mean, think about it. You can send information across the world in half a second, you can get to the other side of the WORLD in less that 24 hours, and there is literally mountains of information, just waiting to be found. Quite a bit like this story.

And do you know what I find, interesting about this? All this technology, was made in less than 2 decades. And do you know what made this happen? (Well, aside from our ever-increasing knowledge of the world.) The fact that most scientists from what I've seen are nerds. In the sense that they like sci-fi stories. I mean, we have a jet packs, we're getting to the point where AI is bordering on being superior to us, and genetic engineering. All because of the world's fascination with fantasy. Or, at least that's what I think.

Of course what I think is rather limited 'cause of the fact that I'm not even technically a teenager, and the fact that I've learned barely enough for me to be considered "smart" in my world. That's gonna take years. And until then, years of disappointment with myself.

Well, aren't I the optimist of the year? I'll finish off this, thought, for today.
