The girl was just laying there, soot covering the armored shirt and simple black pants. There was a ring of smoking grass smoldering around her. The girl had materialized there, much to the shock of the young boy who stood gawking at her. The boy was petrified once he saw the dirty, soot-covered gold insignia on her right shoulder. It looked familiar for a reason, but he couldn't understand why. The boy looked to the relatively small house in the back of the field. There was a small grey kitten laying in the shade.

"K-k-kaleb? Can you c-come out here?" the boy yelled. A near-identical teen came running as fast as he could, careful to avoid the kitten.

"What's up, Blake? Oh," the boy named Kaleb said at a light-speed pace. He looked to where the girl was laying. He looked at Blake, who was chewing on his shirt-sleeve. Kaleb swatted at Blake's arm to get him to stop. The blond-haired boy immediately complied. Kaleb muttered something under his breath, no doubt a curse. Blake looked up and silently scolded the older of the two.

"S-should I call for M-moi?" Blake asked. Kaleb mealy shook his head, showing disapproval to that plan. Blake understood completely. The druid had a nasty temper and neither twin would want to deal with her.

"We can probably get her in the house ourselves," Kaleb said simply. He quickly told Blake the plan.

"I said you grab her feet!"

"B-but I don't want to!"

"I said, grab her feet!"

"You are so s-s-stubborn!"

"Well? What do you expect, moron!"

"M-m-mommy and Daddy w-wouldn't like that." Kaleb froze at the mention of their parents. "S-sorry...."

"It's okay. I was being a butt-head anyway," Kaleb said. Blake immediately moved to carry the girl's feet. The two lifted her up easily. The girl was much lighter than the twins expected, armor and all. Blake set her down, slightly shocked by this. Kaleb proceeded to carry the girl by himself.

"You what!" Moi yelled. The echo rang down the halls, disturbing Kaleb even more. The older of the two twins almost felt bad for the younger one.

Almost.

"W-what did you expect m-me to do?" Blake said meekly. Kaleb could distinctly hear Moi's footsteps from the hall. Moi was pacing in the kitchen. Never good.

"You might have done the 'right thing', but what if she is a spy for the Dian 'ra, mm? I hear they have pretty sophisticated teleportation technology," Moi yell-ranted. He could almost hear Blake shrinking. Kind of like those old animes Blake and I would watch before mom and dad died, Kaleb thought. His train of thought was interrupted by Moi opening the squeaky cupboard. Kaleb sat bolt up-right, grabbing the slightly thread-bare bed sheets. Not the squeaky cupboard! Kaleb raced down the hall just in time to prevent Moi from using the "Bad Boy Paddle" on Blake. Blake was blubbering in a corner, most likely       because the bad-tempered druid scared him. Kaleb tried his best to comfort his twin.

"Was that really necessary, Moi? Really?" Kaleb yelled. Moi just stood there, unable to believe that one of those two had been able to stand up to her. Of course, she would have had her money on Kaleb any day, but he never acted like this.

"I think it was."

"You might come from a place where that is all good and healthy behavior, but this is America! We don't paddle kid's butts for doing something wrong!"

"So, what are we going to do with the girl?"

"Don't change the subject young lady!"

"Excuse me? Young lady? I'm older than you?"

"So?" Kaleb said. He started to feel uneasy, so he dragged Blake out of his room and out the door of the house. Moi soon followed suit, remembering that the older twin predicted future events ninety-eight percent of the time correctly. It turns out he was right this time.

The house was quickly engulfed in a lime-green light. This may have been fine if it wasn't causing the boards of the house to melt like wax, but it was, so it was bad. Blake whispered something about psychokinetic energy, and Moi was rambling off practically every curse word she knew. Kaleb was the only one petrified by the sight, considering that it had run through his mind once already. The source of the light wasn't a Dian 'ra light bomb, however, but the girl they had rescued earlier. Kaleb felt himself twirling a finger through his orangeish-brown hair like he always did when he was confused or scared. This time he was a little of both.

Surprisingly, Kaleb was the first one to get her attention.

"Hey! Glowey green girl! What the heck are you doing?" he yelled. It was obvious that she heard him, because she let her aura-thingy dissipate.Kaleb stepped up to her, but not before she put up a bubble of the same lime-green. "Hey, what's your name?"

"Um, Ellett?" she said, sort of unsure. I just continued to stare at her reddish-pink hair and bronze eyes.

"What kind of name is that?" Moi said in a mocking tone. Ellett glared poison daggers at her before she answered.

"It's my name." Kaleb and Blake turned their attentions to the bubbling remains of their home. Blake picked up a stick and poked a half-melted board. It flexed like melted plastic.

"My name Is Kaleb, and this is Blake, my twin brother," Kaleb said, tearing his attention off of the remains of his room. He reached out his hand, but it was shocked by the bubble. Kaleb cradled his hand protectively, while Blake chattered at her over shocking his brother. Moi found the situation amusing. Once Blake got her to pop the bubble, literally, Kaleb reluctantly tried to shake hands again.

"You know y-you'll have to clean th-this up, r-r-right?" Blake said. Ellett took a look around before answering.

"Um, yah... sure."
