Butterfly dressed in a black shirt with skulls, a forest green jacket, butterfly earrings, purple skinny jeans, and pink converse. Then she placed her hot pink choker with a single silver skull in the middle. Julian bought it for her for being as he put it "special girl."

She did not feel special when he gave it to her, Julian treated her like a princess, but she longed to be with Derek. He was the only one that comforted her in her dreams; he was special and peculiar.

Sometimes she saw him talking to himself as if he really saw someone there and how in the world could he be in her dreams all the time? One time she asked him this and he claimed to have no idea what she was talking about. But she knew those dreams were real, even if he wouldn't admit it.

She passed him in the hallway with his friends and his arm around his girlfriend Veronica's shoulder as she walked with her friends Swayze and Lucile, Swayze liked to be called Z and Lucile liked to be called Luci.

Swayze snapped her fingers in Butterfly's face. "Hello, Butterfly!"

Butterfly snapped out of her daze. "What?"

"Luci asked you if Silica died?"

"Yes, she's dead."

"So my death notebook was right," Said Luci. "As well as Z's vision."

Swayze was an oracle who could see good and bad things that happen to people, and was a wiccan. Lucile came from a line of witches and inherited her witchy powers, and has a real death note-enchanted notebook that tells her how people in her life die. Some of Julian's slaves were her other friends.

"Why can't I have a guy like Derek?" Butterfly said aloud.

"Weirdo, Derek?" Said Swayze. "Like, why?" She said laughing.

"You wouldn't understand," She said as an attempt to drop the subject.

Lucile patted her on her back and told her to stick with Julian and how he was a hot piece of ass.

How could she tell them Derek stood there in her mind wearing all black with a cross around his neck and two silver rings, one on his pinkie and the other on his middle finger all the time, every single night.

But little did she know he had secrets of his own.

Derek ignored the words coming out of his girlfriend's mouth of two years being together. All he could think about was Butterfly after passing her in the hallway. He sat in the back of the physics class.

"Derek! Derek!" Said Veronica trying to snap him out of his daze.

He looked at her. "Yes?"

"I said I was thinking of wearing a pink dress to junior prom and you should wear a pink collared shirt and a fuchsia tie. It would so cool on your black suit," She said with a big pearly white grin.

He looked down. "Sure, babe."

She put a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

The bell rung signaling for class to start as Mr. Ryder came in.

"Today we will be talking about polley physics problems," Mr. Ryder said as he wrote on the white board with a green expo marker.

"Open your books and turn to page 110 and we will begin."

During lunch he told his friend Brian and Zachary that he wanted to eat alone because he was thinking about a lot of different things that weighed heavily on his mind. His friends understood, and allowed him to sit at one of the round tables alone.
