A splash of cold liquid runs down my white shirt causing me to let out a yelp. My shirt was now soaked by soda, making my bra apparent for the world to see. The soda drips down to my white converse as I click my tongue.
The stickiness of the soda was making my skin feel gross and the smell was overwhelming.
I sadly look at the popcorn I was carrying which was now all across the movie theater floor. What a waste of 7 dollars, I huff out.
Anger flares up inside me and I glare at the person in front of me.
"Dude what the hell!" I try to pull my shirt away from my boobs, my cheeks turning red.
"I-I-I'm so sorry I didn't see you." He stammers with red cheeks. He looks at my chest for a quick second and turns even more red.
I look around to see people laughing at my dismay, I've never felt more embarrassed in my life.
The stranger in front of me quickly takes off his jacket and hands it to me with a guilty look on his face. I hesitantly take the jacket from him and put it on. I feel relief now that people can't see my pink bra anymore.
I state with irritation, "Why don't you look where you're going next time."
He rubs his neck, "I'm sorry I was running to catch the movie, my friends were saving a seat for me."
We look at each other for a few seconds, I start to fidget because I couldn't help but feel awkward. What was I supposed to say now?
I was the first one to break the silence," Um I should go now." I start to take his jacket off.
He quickly says, " Y-you can keep the jacket, its fine."
"I don't like having ties with people especially strangers."
"Oh." He furrows his eyebrows. He then smiles brightly at me, my heart pounds against my chest. His smile is really... sweet.
"My names Mark, and by you knowing my name now I'm not a total stranger."
His phone vibrates and he curses. He then gazes at me while cheekily saying," I'll see you around."
"Only if you want to." He says with a rush and a hint of shyness.
I cough trying to clear my throat, "Yeah." I pause looking into his hopeful eyes. How can I say I won't with those eyes?
I sigh out with a small smile, "I'll see you around."
I turn around and walk to the exit of the theater. Should I look back? He probably already left. I push the exit door open and glance behind me to see Mark still there gazing at me.
I feel my cheeks turn red and I wave at him.
He snaps out of his daze and waves back with a stupid smile on his face.
That stupid smile of his is oddly charming.
