When kenny gets a job, he takes every paycheck and makes sure he'll have enough to feed his siblings and himself. Kevin is old enough to get a job, but no one will hire him due to his appearance. Therefore kenny has to provide for them. In the weeks of the smaller paychecks, kenny will go without eating to make sure the others don't have to.
