- The Drive to Nowhere -
The drive to nowhere started. It was a clear and present danger to go out with this man. To back ride at his equally handsome and mysterious big bike. But what the heck, this gives her the mystical and enigmatic feeling of being carefree in this adventurous and exciting part of the secret life of a sad, wounded and longing woman who is still hungry for affection.
Under the glow of the summer moonlight, she found happiness here with a man still strange and unknown to her but feels like she has known him all of her life. If there was really a word of a world of past-life, then this man has something to do with her past.
"Hey, wazzup?", Gio managed to ask her while doing the left turn.
"Nothing. Just thinking about this whole crazy thing and wondering if I have already met you in my past life." , she said while she clings tighter to Gio's well-toned abs.
The heat of Gio's body sent shivers under her spine and his casual protective clutching of her knee while passing through packs of barking dogs creates a stir in her belly.
He routed to the way he usually takes to his home and told her if she likes to go with him there. She managed to refuse though she longs to spent a little more time with him. It would be too much if she gives in, she's vulnerable and whatever chances there will be for them to be alone would be so "frighteningly dangerous".
"Tell me, how long have you been here? Never got the chance to see you earlier in my life.", he asked while avoiding the road bump.
"I was here the whole time, grew partly in my grandparents, stayed for a while at my father's place and transfered here in the south with um.. him and the kids. How about you? Do you have a wife? Kids?", she asked him in return.
"Doesn't matter.", and she never asked again. She wonders why she suddenly became too afraid to ask. She really didn't want everything to end so soon.
"Do you enjoy the ride?", the man with a few words asked.
She nodded her head and buried her face on Gio's back which surprisingly feels like a familiar territory for her face to comfortably rest to.
"Please see me again tomorrow?", it sounded more like a plea coming from Gio.
As the summer air turns to chill, she asked Gio to drop her at her house. She knew everything is wrong and this craziness is going nowhere. The mixed emotions of joy, excitement, fear, reluctance and sadness creates a dim blur in her eyes. It was a sudden move of nature as both hugged and bid goodbyes. No plans, no security as to when they will meet again. No clarity. What they have and what feelings just started is nowhere to go.
Tears flooded her eyes when she closed the door behind Gio. The pain in her heart grew more when the engine started and as the motorcycle zoomed so fast, she cried so hard. Seems heaven just began crying with her, as the first summer rain poured that midnight.
- Lyrical as an Old Love Song -
Secret lovers, yeah
That's what we are
Trying so hard to hide the way we feel
Because we both belong to someone elseBut we can't let it go
Cause what we feel
Is, oh, so real
So real, so realYou and me
Are we fair?
Is this cruel
Or do we care? The sound that is coming from the radio is quite suited to be their theme song, Carrie managed an impish grin while listening to the Atlantic Starr's hit from the 80s.
