Jin wiped at the tears quickly, Jimin staring in awe at the man before him.
"It's me, Jin."
Jimin didn't say a word. Instead, he reached slowly toward the table by his bed.
"Don't you recognize me?" Jin asked when recieving no response.
It pained him to see the young man. It clearly made no sense that he had hit Jimin with his car 25 years after his dissapearance and that he hadn't aged at all, but Jin had forgotten all about the pecularities of the situation when his eyes landed on the friend he had missed so much.
"Sure....." Jimin let out slowly.
Jin was uneasy and was hoping instead for some happy reunion with Jimin. He approached the young man, wanting to see him up close, wanting to make sure he wasn't seeing things. Jin was sure it was him. It had to be.
"G-get away from me," Jimin said, grabbing the cup on his bedstand and pointing it at Jin like some sort of weapon. "I'm warning you."
Jin put his hands and the air and chuckled. "Oh c'mon, quick kidding around and lets talk abo-"
"No! Tell me right now. Who the hell are you and what have you done to the real Jin?!"
Jimin continued to point the cup at Jin, eying him wearily and scooting back on the bed in effort to keep distance.
"I am the real Jin."
Jimin shook his head, refusing to believe anything that came from the man's mouth.
"You're not him! Jin is young and handsome and you're- you're old!"
"I guess I am old," Jin sighed as he scratched his neck. "But I'm still handsome, don't you think?"
He gulped and narrowed his eyes. "If you're really Jin then let me ask you something," he said. "What was the first thing I said to you when we met?"
Jin laughed and answered: "Do you think I'd ever forget? You said, 'So you're the old man in the group...'"
"Only Jin knows that...." Jimin thought to himself.
"What did I get you for your 22nd birthday?"
"You got me a jacket..The one woth the stripes. I still have it."
This man had to be Jin. Those were things only the real deal would know and any imposter would have answered incorrectly. Jimin lowered the cup and relaxed his muscles.
"Hyung?" He said softly.
Jin nodded and smiled.
"How?" They both asked at the same time.
They both wanted to understand the situation, for it was equally confusing for both parties. Jin had given up on ever seeing Jimin again after he had gone unseen for 25 years. Jimin, on the other hand, was suffering some sort of extreme confusion after skipping 25 years in time and subsequently being hit by a car.
"How did you age so fast?" Jimin asked.
Jin shook his head. "Do you know what year it is?"
"Let me guess, its 2042," Jimin said mockingly, imitating the crazy old man.
"That's right."
Jimin went silent after that. It had to be true or else who was this older Jin, what was that building he had never seen, where was Bighit studios? Perhaps the old man was being truthful. Maybe Jimin himself had gone mad.
"How did I get here?"
"I don't know, but I need to take you to see someone."
"Who?"
