Chapter 1-The Summer Begins

“Hey guys, have you heard about the Lundinberg School closing?” Said Clara Kirrin to her brother, Julian Kirrin and her cousins Eve John and Paul John, on a sunny day in their villa in Vircole a place near Mexico. “Of course we have heard but I do pity those poor servant children who used to study there” said Paul. “Aargh! They had such an awesome football field, but it’s all a run down now” groaned Julian, who had a sports mania.” Paul immediately straightened up at the thought of his beloved football. “Say Julian, do you think we could have a game of football tomorrow?” Julian frowned and said “But where will we go?” Paul thought for a second and said “The Ludinburg schools football field is still open!” “But I thought that was a run down,” Eve asked? “Yeah it is but we can still play football” grinned Paul. “Good, then it is settled then! Will meet you at exactly 6 o’ clock “said Julian. “I’m starving! Who’s ready for some cookies and milk?” asked Clara. “I am” cried three other voices at once. They were soon seated at the dining table of the Kirrin’s villa. They had delicious cookies and a glass of milk each. Then Eve and Paul left to go back to their house which was next door. Paul and Eve waved goodbye and left. That night Paul and Julian went off to sleep, dreaming about football. They both sure loved sports. They had lots of similarities. The next morning, Clara and Julian rushed to their cousins’ house after finishing their breakfast. “Say Paul and Eve, do you think we could have a cycling trip today? We could go to the hills and camp there tonight. Mom has allowed us already and also promised for a basket full of food! She also said she will talk to Aunt Mary” “Paul and Eve you have permission to go camping!” Their mother said smiling. Paul frowned and said “But what about the football game?” “We can put off that of for day after tomorrow” said Julian joining in the conversation. Paul finally said okay after a lot of pleases! “Fine then let’s leave” exclaimed Eve getting into action. The children grabbed their bicycles and were almost ready to leave when Julian suddenly remembered that they had forgotten their yummy food basket on the doorway. He rushed to collect it and yelled “You guys leave I’ll come with the tents too”. When Julian finally reached the hills in record time he found that Paul was struggling with the tent he shouted, “Hey! Paul I have two large ones, so the girls can fit in one and we can fit in one and I think we will put up our tents on a better view hill!” “Gosh! This is so exciting!” exclaimed Paul. “It certainly is” said Clara “I never saw it coming!” “Neither did I!” said Julian. “Get on your cycles now, I simply can’t wait to get started!” almost yelling at the top of his voice was Paul. So off went the 4 kids, enjoying the fresh air immensely.  They made their way to the hills. In the middle of the ride, everyone started getting hungry. They ate the meal on a small patch of grass. Everyone enjoyed it and wished the moments wouldn’t pass away in a moment of a blink of an eye. The children finished the meal and rode a bit more and soon reached a small hill. The children climbed and climbed until they found a perfect view. “What a magnificent sight!” exclaimed Julian. “Agreed never seen one like this” said Paul. “Wow!” said the girls. They put up the tents right on the spot. They ate their tea and went for a walk. When they returned, they were so hungry that they ate up everything that was left! “Mom sure has magic in her hands when it comes to cooking!” exclaimed Clara. “Smashing” agreed the others. The children talked and then Julian announced, “It is 8 o ‘clock we will have an early night today.” Everyone that night slept like logs that night dreaming of upcoming events on the picnic. When the children woke up, they realized they had no food left so, they dressed and cycled till they reached a café called ‘Victoria’s Pub’. The smell of coffee and bacon and eggs awakened the children’s taste buds. The children had a satisfying breakfast, paid the bill and left. On their way back Paul reminded Julian about their football game. Julian hesitated and replied, “Uh Paul? Don’t be angry but I have my keyboard class once we get home. I umm…. Honestly really was looking forward to the game but I just can’t bunk my class.” Paul still mad said “Julian you can FLUNK it you know.” Julian replied, No I can’t but keeping my promise we can have a game at 2 o’clock.” “Oh thanks!” replied Paul. Clara and Eve had their own plans once the children got home they took a bath and parted. The girls got their mom’s to drop them to the ‘Vircole Forum Mall’ which was the biggest in Vircole and Mexico.  As the boys had their own way who reached the field like 2 hours later than the girls who were already in the mall shopping in full swing. As Julian came home Paul lunged at him. They grabbed the ball and ran to Lundinberg School. The children reached the field and started their game. Paul was about to score when Julian tried tackling him. Suddenly Julian fell down and started groaning. He tried to pick himself up. Paul ran him anxiously. “Are you alright?” asked Paul. “I guess.” Said Julian. Paul helped Julian up, Julian exclaimed “I think I struck my foot on something, here it is a box!” Paul replied, “Ooh! This is exciting!” Julian said, “You know, we could be like the Famous Five just we would be the Famous Four!”
