The words around him blurred into a drone as Mr Pickett explained the new layout of the course due to a cut in funds. All Harry was interested in was the new Art teacher who stood just behind the man. Soft wisps of fringe decorated his tanned face and a small amount of stubbed lined his jaw. His gentle blue eyes stared down at his hands as though the string of his apron was the most interesting thing in the world. Muscles strained in the mid-length sleeves of his shirt causing Harry to make a strange grunt. A chuckle rose from the seat beside him and Harry was suddenly aware that Niall was watching him.
"Oi, Which chick's got you so bothered?" Niall whispered, scanning the room in an attempt to catch the victim of Harry's gaze.
Harry sighed. As much as he longed to tell Niall that he was starting to find some men extremely attractive, he couldn't. Harry had enough going against him as it was. Complete nerd, book nut and an outcast. Niall was top of the pile. First class jock and the only reason Harry hadn't had the absolute shit beaten out of him.
"I believe you two should be listening." The voice was a soft whisper beside Harry's ear.
The accent was unfamiliar so it couldn't have been any student. Harry knew all their tones; they'd taunted him often enough. Slowly, he turned his head only to come centimetres from the new art teacher's face. A grin spread across the man's face as he stood back up to his, rather short, full height. The whole class had their attention on Harry, Mr Pickett long gone. Harry and Niall had spoke all the way through the new teacher's self introduction. Harry wanted to implode from both embarrassment and guilt.
"Hello, I'm Mr Tomlinson. You're Art teacher for the year."
