Why does it take so long to get a cab in Vegas..UGH! After about fifteen minutes of waiting, me and my mom finally got a cab and went to AMERICA'S GOT TALENT! OH MY GOD! There are way too many people here, I think I'm gonna thrown up. No, don't say that, you'll do fine. Once I pulled myself together, I got in line to check in. I looked down the line, they're not gonna like me, I just know it. It was my turn to check in, after 45 minutes.
"Hi! What's your name and what are you performing today?" Said the checker-in person.
"I'm Lyric Alexander and I'm singing In The End by Linkin Park."
"Okay Lyrics go right through those doors and wait for your number to be called."
Me and my mom walked through the huge doors and found to open seats to sit down. I took out my phone and went scrolling through my Instagram,
Ugly
Fat
Worthless
Stupid
I hope you die!
My eyes started to water and a tear ran down my face. Boy am I glad my mom went to the bathroom, I didn't want her questioning this. I opened my eyes and I saw a flash of bright purple. I looked up and it was a girl and four other kids around my age.
"Hey why are you crying?" The purple haired one said, wiping my tear away.
"It's just some kids at school, it doesn't matter."
"If you're crying over it, it does matter!" The orange haired boy said.
Then, the purple haired one said, "My name's Kayla, the orange haired one is Tyler, white hair is Veronica, but we call her Ronni, the silver hair is Jia, and the black hair is Kevin. We're a band called Rising Current.
Tyler, I think his name was, said "People just judge you because they think you're better than them. Listen, we've all gone through that and look at us, we're living and happy, you'll be like that one day!"
"Number 269420 please report to the stage, number 269420!"
"That's me just wait here, I'll be back."
I hear a chorus of good lucks behind me and I walked out on stage. They questioned me and I started singing. The whole crowd was into it so I just went along with it. This is what they meant when they said I would be happy one day. After I finished I got FOUR, not 3, 2, or 1, FOUR yes's! I walked back to the holding room and saw Rising Current warming up.
"Hey how'd you do?" Kevin screamed.
"I GOT FOUR YES'S! Tyler, you remember what you said about me becoming happy, that was me out on stage. No one was judging me or saying mean things and you guys were a big part of that. I I thought it only got worse, it got so much better!"
In the end, it doesn't matter, Rising Current helped me and were unbelievable!
