"Oh yes! He went out muttering something about being too hungry."
"Oh!" I said "So he couldn't wait?"
"Wait for what?" Victor asked.
"Oh nothing, I wanna finish cleaning and go home. I'm exhausted."
He shrugged and turned back to his spot, since he wouldn't be eating the delicious food I'd prepared, I packed it in a cooler. I still wasn't sure if he'd let me take it home, so I waited. He didn't come so I returned back home.
Feeling all of the days cleaning taking a toll on me, I quickly brushed my teeth and went to bed. Until my phone rang downstairs. "What the heck!" I muttered as I half got out of bed and I half fell out.
"Hello?" I answered groggily.
The other end of the line went silent and then as I was about to hang up, and icy tone made me stop half way. He enunciated every syllable, "DON'T YOU DARE HANG UP ON ME, MAID." I was in a state of panic until I heard the maid part.
I seriously thought of hanging up, but I knew Raphael would not take it lightly. "What do you want?" I answered back with gritted teeth. "I'm off work as you can see and it's 12 O'clock.
"If you know what is good for you, you would drop that pride act and tell me where my food is." He practically sounded like he was capable of death.
Yet I answered, "Pride act my foot, you've treated me like an egotistical maniac who does not have a heart. Do you know that I'm of the same species with you? I have human rights too with you. Your not above me." As I said that I immediately regretted, but lucky it looked like he'd already been disconnected without me knowing.
The phone rang again, I didn't answer it I just left it on the floor and covered it with some pillows. The nerve of that guy! He made me so angry!
I called in sick the next day and it wasn't a lie. Every inch of my body ached, I most likely needed to see a masseuse. I lay in bed all day, downing pain killers I'd bought earlier.
That was when the idea got to me, "The taming of the..." I wasn't quite sure what the male of a shrew was but that man was more of a tiger, and of course I hadn't gotten him completely figured out, I'd use today to study him and orchestrate a plan. He always seemed unsatisfied.
As I got up from my bed, I got the paper. I also got a letter and the handwriting looked all too familiar. I tossed the letter in a drawer where I'd stashed the rest of them, my dad really had to stop, he knew nothing would change me.
As I flipped through the papers, I saw a full page photo of none other than my loving boss. He looked so intimidating, as he stood there in the picture, the same intense green eyed gaze. Arrogant was the only adjective you could use to describe him, from his neatly gelled hair, to the suave suit, and the annoying smirk were his two canines where protruding. I wanted so badly to wipe it away. The caption read, " RAPHAEL FERRARI, MULTI - BILLIONAIRE, ARRIVES AT NEW YORK." It went on to state how he was the heir to the owner of one of the largest conglomerate worldwide.
I had a shower, ate and headed to my second favourite place, the library. Janice the librarian and I were very close, she always saved the new materials for me. I parked my car and headed inside, I was thinking of taking an online course. I really didn't have time for school, but I hoped I could make it work. If I wanted to go for anything it'd be architecture.
Janice waved me over and I smiled and walked over to her. "How have you been?" she whispered.
I shrugged, "I'm not doing good," I admitted.
"What's up?"
"My bosses son is now, staying at the mansion." I said glumly.
"Isn't that a good thing?" She said as she wiggled her eyebrows. "You could perhaps seduce him and marry him, if you don't love him get a divorce and still keep his money." She said bluntly.
I eyed her, too much time here had made her delusional, I mean even though I tried to seduce him, which body would I use in doing it? I stared at her until she kept quiet about her stupid idea.
"Jan, you really need some time off your job, no way am I gonna do that, yuck! Have you met the guy?"
"What, is he not attractive? who's the guy anyway?"
"Yes he is if you think, alligator's are attractive." I said snorting. "Sure someone who didn't know him would think of him as attractive, but he's just like a poison apple, he's insides are rotten. And his name is Raphael Ferrari."
"Oh my gosh! You work for him, Pheebs how lucky!"
She whined on and on about how she'd much rather be in my shoes and how unappreciative I was. I blanked out, seriously how was I going to get that troll back? I bit my lips, think think, I guess I just needed to know his dislikes better and use them against him.
I returned and borrowed library materials as Jan went on about him. She really had no idea that some people were wolves in sheep's clothing. Maybe that was why she got her heart broken every other day.
As I went out, I quickly ducked as one of my nightmares materialized. Heading this way was Aidan Thayer, my crush back in high school, I can and will never forget what he did to me. I thought he didn't see me but as he got closer, I was forced to come out of my hiding spot.
A/N
Awkward moment starting in three, two, one. I don't know if I should apologize for a short chapter but it is a short story after all. Did you miss Raphael? What do you think will happen when the Cherophobic girl and her former crush meet. And Janice is really a talkative for a librarian isn't she. Please comment down below your thoughts and if you like this chapter.P.S - I felt like asking this question, if I get replies I'll do it on every chapter. "Why do you think your birthdays special."
XOXO Merit.
