The first girl I loved

The Christmas spirit.

It had been a couple months since the graduation, now nearing Christmas. The group hadn't caught up much since that night at Clarke's. Clarke and Lexa however had been keeping busy. Lexa got a job getting paid to train newcomers at the place she once boxed, and Clarke got her old job back working at the counter in the vet clinic. It has been hard but they have managed to see each other when they weren't working.

"Christmas is in a couple weeks" Clarke said as she hung up the final decoration in the living room. "I have an idea on what to get you" she continued to speak through the silence, Lexa hugged her from behind, "unless it's you wrapped in a bow, I'm not interested". Clarke eased out of Lexa's grip and spun so they were faced, she gave off a cheeky smile, "you'll just have to wait and see", "We all know I love surprises" Lexa answered back. "Wait" Clarke said, this time actually getting out of Lexas grip, she paced around the room. "what is it babe?" Lexa was confused. "I have an idea" she perked her head, "I'm going to call our friends and set up a secret Santa exchange, I'll see if they're free tomorrow", "Wow that actually does sound like a great idea" Lexa shared the same excited expression as Clarke. "Sounds like a plan then" Clarke excitedly clapped her hands together. "I've gotta go, run by the gym and help Titus with something, I'll call you later" Lexa picked up her jacket and walked by Clarke and kissed her on the cheek before proceeding to exit the house.

Lexa made it to her front door and dialled Clarke's number. The line connected and Clarke picked up, "Hey babe" Lexa was the first to speak, with her free arm she unlocked the door and opened it. "I called everyone, and they're all up for it, we're gonna meet up tomorrow at my house, be here around 10am" Clarke explained the plans over the phone. "Sounds good, I'll be there" Lexa expressed interest.  Lexa was now in the house and she was silently greeted by Anya, she waved back before going to her room. "Anyway I'm home now", "I can't wait to see you tomorrow, it's gonna be fun" Clarke replied, "yeah it'll be good to see our friends again". They spoke on the phone for another ten minutes before saying goodbye.

The next day

It was the following day and as planned, everyone had met at Clarke's house. After several minutes of catching up on the much needed time, they all settled down to discuss why they were there. "So I thought something fun we could do as a group again before Christmas is secret Santa", they were all sat around in the living room while Clarke explained everything, "I'm thinking we keep the maximum to spend at $50", they exchanged glares, nods and smiles. "it's settled then, I've put all our names in a hat, go around and pull one out" Clarke grabbed the hat she kept hidden behind her.

Clarke was the first to pull a name out, 'Jasper', the paper read, she looked at it and kept it to herself and proceeded to hand it to the person next to her, Lexa. She put her hand in next and pulled out the next name, 'Bellamy', to the next person, Raven. She pulled the third name out, 'Monty' it read. She handed the hat to Octavia, 'Lexa' was the name she pulled out, "Here babe" O said as she handed it to Lincoln. 'Raven' he pulled her name out. Monty was up next, 'Octavia' he got, he then handed it to Jasper who was next to him, He pulled out 'Lincoln'. Bellamy was the lucky last and there was only one name left, 'Clarke'.

When all the names had been picked out, they kept them all to themselves. "Okay cool, now what?" Jasper asked, "Well I say we should have til Christmas to get a gift for our person" Raven proposed. "sounds good" They all agreed.

After they all left it was just Clarke and Lexa, they were sat on her couch, Lexa's arm around Clarke, with Clarke resting her head on Lexa. "what's wrong?" Clarke lifted her head, noticing Lexa's emotion change. "I have no idea on what to get the person I got", "Well who is it?", "I don't want to ruin the surprise" Lexa defended, "Maybe I can help, no one has to know" Clarke persuaded, Lexa just gave her a look, "Okay" she broke, "it's Bellamy", Clarke just looked at her bewildered. Clarke threw herself back against the couch, "Damn thats a hard one, well lets think". So thats what they did, and after several minutes of useless thinking, Clarke came to a conclusion. "Get him a book on mythology". Lexa narrowed her eyes, "Oh yeah, he loves that stuff, have I not told you the story behind Octavia's name?" Clarke asked, Lexa shook her head. "Well Bell got to name her and he named her Octavia, after the roman emperor Augustus, he had a younger sister called Octavia" She explained to Lexa. "Wow" was all she replied.  "Yeah he loves all that sort of stuff, you name it, I promise he'll love it" Clarke put her hand on Lexa's thigh, "Well if you say so, thanks babe" she put her arm back around Clarke and they continued to cuddle.
