I’ve booked a flight for Car on a plane back on Saturday at one in the afternoon. I’ll be at the airport to pick him up and I’ll talk to him about what we talked about. Don’t feel any of this is your fault. I’m sure he’s just going through a mid-teenage crisis or something. Boys are stupid. I would know considering I am one. Enjoy your week. Car said you’re taking him around London. He also said something about some guy buying him a skateboard. Just don’t let him crack his skull open. I’m not going to be a bedside nurse to that kid. Enjoy your week. – Ash

Avalon sighed and stuffed her phone in her pocket. She’d responded with a simple: Thank you. Have a nice week as well. This is the first I’ve heard about a skateboard.

She still loved Ashton. She probably always would considering how long they’d been together. They’d been together so long, in fact, that she was easily seeing them together forever while they were dating. And they probably would be together still if –

“You’re zoning out,” Harry said nudging her shoulder with his.

“Yeah sorry,” Avalon sighed, “It’s been a long day and it’s only Sunday. I don’t know how I’m going to spend an entire week alone with this kid.”

“Good thing I took the week off,” Harry smirked.

“What? You took the week off?! Why?”

Harry gave Avalon a look as if to say ‘Are you serious?’ and Avalon cleared her throat. “You’re too good to me.”

“I know,” Harry shrugged, “That’s what best friends are for though. Plus, I like hearing all the stories Carter has to say about you.”

“Are you going to buy him a skateboard?” Avalon asked, deciding to change the subject.

Harry looked at her in shock. “What?”

“Nothing; never mind.”

“You two are so slow!” Carter called behind him. So far they’d seen Big Ben and done a little shopping considering Carter was an idiot and didn’t bring anything with him. Now they were walking around and getting ready to get in line for the Eye.

It was a nice day out and Harry continuously got the urge to hold Avalon’s hand. He could see this happening too. He could see Carter coming to visit every so often and they’d all go out to do some touristy stuff. Harry could see he and Avalon walking in the back of the group, hand in hand and smiling to each other, as Avalon’s family explored their city.

And it wasn’t helping either that they continued to pass couples enjoying the lovely day out. Harry shifted uncomfortably when his and Avalon’s arms brushed and ran a hand through his hair.

“Everything okay?” Avalon asked, reaching out and gripping his arm. Harry tensed slightly but instantly relaxed in the hope that she would keep her hand on his arm.

“Fine,” Harry sighed, “A bit lightheaded. I guess that’s what you get from working and staring at a computer constantly.”

Avalon’s arm wrapped around his bicep, her hand resting comfortably in the crook of his elbow. “I’ve got you,” Avalon smiled, a slightly blush appearing on her cheeks.

“SO SLOW!” Carter cried, “At this pace, lovebirds, we’re never going to get in line.”

“You two go ahead,” Harry said as they stood at the end of the long line, “I’ll be right back.”

“Please don’t be gone for long,” Avalon begged, “Because I have no idea where I am.”

“I promise to be right back,” Harry chuckled, leaning forward and kissing her forehead, “Don’t be a dick while I’m gone,” he said pointing to Carter.
