Having no luck finding a seat, Erica and I went towards the staircase situated in the college ground. There were two staircases, oppositely situated at the two ends of the ground.
The ground wasn't so big, not even enough to assemble the entire college. But then it means less walking, which is a good thing.
We reached the staircase, sitting on the third and the uppermost stair. There wasn't much crowd right now, most of them were attending their classes, others in the overcrowded canteen and the rest roaming about in the hallways.
I was busy eating my breakfast when I realised Erica hasn't uttered a word since we got here. I was busy rambling about that challenger Kay_ who had challenged me for 30 races and how good was he at playing.
I nudged her, her eyes were concentrated on the opposite staircase.
Her trance broke, and she gave me a glare.
"What happened? You haven't even uttered a single word. Are you okay?" I asked.
"Why do you think that guy is not looking up?" She said pointing to some random guy sitting on the other side.
"He's been engaged in his phone for so long!" She exclaimed.
"And why does it bothers you?"
" Just wondering, anything is more interesting than your rambling" she replied.
Such amazing friend do I have.
I took glance at the guy. He was sitting with his other two friends. The other two were talking to each other while he was doing something on his phone.
Even though he was the only one so engaged in his phone, yet he was the only one who had my attention.
Dishevelled hair, untrimmed stubble, button up shirt with sleeves rolled halfway and that engrossed look on his face as he concentrated his eyes on his phone screen. Everything allured me.
Although it was winter and everyone around were sweaters or jackets, he was the one adorning the rolled up sleeves.
Winter season was soon to end, but the air was still chill around, one would definitely require some coverings. But no, he needed none. He was sitting so unaffected by it as if it was summers.
He was something else, something different, than my other infatuations.
I shook my head, pushing the thought away from my mind.
But I knew, he had rooted himself in my mind. I would always find him there. Like he had occupied a corner in my mind. He lived there. I just took one glance for this to happen. Just a glance and he's there in my mind, what will happen if we talked?
Erica flicked her fingers in front of my eyes,
"Can you stop gawking at him, like a hawk ready to kill it's prey?"
"Oh um...I was...he was..." The words didn't come to my mind.
"He's your new 'I am about to stalk him' person, I know" Erica smirked.
She knows me too well.
"You must have not realised this but during your ogling session at him, he's glanced twice or thrice in our direction. Probably saw you staring at him." She stated.
" Okay now do one thing, stand over there, I'm gonna click a picture of yours" I said pointing her towards that spot.
Her face lit up, "Really? That is so nice of you" she grinned.
If only she knew.
" No you idiot, not there, stand in front of him so that it'll look like I'm taking your picture" I said, pointing again towards the spot.
"And here I thought you're taking my picture" she sighed.
Now she knows.
"Er..Kaira, he's giving us weird looks" she said turning towards him for the fifth time now.
"If you could stop turning around again and again, it would be very much appreciated." I grumbled.
"I think he's getting a doubt about us, his friends are also looking now" she said after turning around for the sixth time.
She's way too loud. He would hear her speaking all this.
"Shh.. he's worth it" I tried shushing her up
And, the picture came out to be blurred with his hands covering half of his face.
He has definitely caught us.
"By the way, what's his name?"
