"When we get there just follow me. Stand there, talk if you want to but I probably won't pay attention, and just do as I say." Sherlock explained in the can on the way to the scene of the crime.
"O-ok. I can do that." you said.
"Good. And also, don't mind Donovan or Anderson. They're idiots and they don't know what they're talking about." Sherlock explained.
Before you could respond, the cab pulled up to the scene and Sherlock practically jumped out of it. You payed the cabbie and followed after him. He was currently walking towards the yellow tape surrounding an area where a bunch of people were standing. You hesitated.
"Are you coming?" he asked impatiently at the tape.
You looked down at the ground and hurried your way after him. When you got closer he lifted up the tape and went under, holding it up for you. You were about to go under when you heard someone shout.
"Oi! Who is she!"
You looked up Sherlock and then to a woman who was standing in front of you with her hands on her hips.
"She's my assistant. She's filling in for John." Sherlock explained.
"Not another one." she muttered before throwing her hands up in the air and walking away.
"W-who was that?" you asked.
"That's Sally Donovan, the one I told you about, who you should ignore." he told you as he began walking towards the center of the commotion.
You trailed behind him shyly as he began talking to a man with grey hair. He seemed not to notice you until you shifted a little on your feet, feeling quite out of place and unhelpful.
"Sherlock, who's the girl?" the man asked in confusion.
"I don't know why don't you ask her yourself. She's standing right there." he replied aggressively with an eye roll.
"R-right." he mumbled before turning to face you fully.
"My name is Greg. Are you a uhh....friend of Sherlock's?" he asked.
"Umm......I uh.....I just moved into.....into 221C." you responded nervously.
"Good luck with that. I've heard Sherlock is quite the handful," Greg joked with a smirk on his face.
"Where are the witnesses?" Sherlock asked annoyed.
"Right," Greg said, turning to lead us to them, "There's only one but he won't talk to anybody. No one can get him to tell them anything. I don't know how helpful he'll be."
"Typical," Sherlock muttered.
As you approached, you saw the small boy sitting on the sidewalk, crying loudly. People were trying to comfort him but it wasn't working.
"Be nice please," Greg said before Sherlock made his way over.
You followed after him, silently observing everything that was happening. He bent down to the younger boy and he looked at him, tears still falling down his face.
"My name is Sherlock Holmes. I just have a few questions for you ok?" he asked, trying to be patient.
The boy didn't response but he had stopped crying. Sherlock continued.
"Did you see when the man was murdered?"
The boy immediately started crying again, harder than he had before and Sherlock looked a little startled.
"Sherlock! Are you kidding me!" you exclaimed angrily.
Sherlock got up from his kneeling position and was about to respond when you interrupted him.
