Chapter 8 | Again

Previously-

"N-no." You sniffled, holding your leg. It hurt like heck, as there was a pounding feeling inside of it. Normally, a broken-leg was nothing compared to the injuries you had been through, but this time, after going so long without a serious injury, you were tender. Meliodas' voice slightly cracked as he heard you start to cry. "Hang on, I'm coming down!!" He shouted as he leapt down.

He landed near you and picked you up like you were a feather, and bridal-style. Your cheeks lightly reddened as you wiped a a fresh tear from your face. You felt weak. Immobilized. You then curled up in his arms nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck. He blushed at that action.

"We're getting out of here, don't worry..." He breathed softly, caressing your soft hair with his cheek. "But it might hurt a bit in the process." He then walked to a place where he could run up the wall. And he did that, but you started crying again when he landed.

"T-thanks." You stuttered, pressing your hands to your cheeks. Meliodas nodded, but didn't set you down.

"I'm not going to lose you because of some stupid piece of land." He growled, beginning to bolt back to camp. That was all part of his plan to make you hug him tighter. He missed your warmth, your feel, your everything. He was beginning to recall his memories, but he didn't know how to tell you. He his plan worked, and you hugged him even closer.

You awoke on one of the mattresses, with Meliodas by your side. He seemed to be shaking. His hands were tangled in his messy blonde locks. You could see wet streams dripping down the side of his arms, and more water flowing. You weakly reached out to him with a limp arm, rubbing his back gently. He quickly turned around and stared at you.

"Mel..." You whispered, stroking his cheek. Tears were also in your eyes now, nearly bursting out. His tears were still flowing, but they seemed to be tears of joy. You weakly smiled, closing your eyes and letting the tears fall. He smiled back, embracing you tightly.

"(Y)-(Y/n)..." Meliodas mumbled into your hair, hugging you even tighter. "I can't just lose you again... I've lost you two times already, and that's two too many."

You suddenly retracted yourself from his embrace and you looked into his bloodshot eyes. You shook your head and brought your forehead to his.

"You're an idiot." You breathed into his ear. He suddenly flew back and raised an eyebrow.

"I'm the idiot?"

"You're the one who fell in love with me." He snorted and then brought your forehead back to his.

"A mistake I'd gladly make again." He whispered tenderly, kissing you. At first you were shocked, but then you gradually melted into the kiss. It lasted for quite a while, until you had to get air. You blushed and suddenly looked behind Meliodas. Ban was standing behind a tree, fan-boying at how cute you two were being.

"BAN!!!" You screeched, suddenly getting up. You immediately collapsed onto your bad leg, the pulsing pain getting stronger. Meliodas rushed to your side, picking you and setting you back onto the bed. But you were still positively -- or rather, negatively -- fuming. Ban chuckled and came over.

"The lovebirds finally remember each other, huh?" He sighed, putting his hands into his pockets. "Thank God; for a moment there, I thought that you two wouldn't reconcile." He breathed with relief giving you and Meliodas a closed-eyes smile. You rolled your eyes and then smiled at Ban.

"We should head back... The others might be worried..." Meliodas mumbled holding you against his chest. Your cheeks slightly reddened at the gesture, but you kept silent.
