Do you sometimes wonder ?
About everything and nothing ? I do. All the time... ever since he left. The thoughts just don't follow me during the longsome days, they follow me to bed, to my dreams... everywhere and anywhere. They never let me getaway, like the most sweetest childhood memories that can never be forgotten.
My voice shook as I let my harshest fears speak through " Don't leave me, not yet, not now, not ever." My fingers traced his lean hands. "Stay." I whispered. "Stay for me."
But he didn't he didn't stay, not for me, his brother or his poor mother, Simon Gregory left without a word and more importantly left without saying Goodbye. Deep in my soul and heart I believed, believed that he was the one. Ever since he spat his strawberry mint bubble gum into my hair as a little boy. Back then we were a 'trio' The Gregory boys and me. We would trust each other, unconditionally and blindly just like children would. Because there were no boundaries only us, summer and our lake, our beautiful paradise.
Luke's eyes averted to my face before opening his lips and gently planting soft kisses down my ear. "I can never get enough of you." he whispered.
I giggled unable to keep a straight face. "Can you concentrate on the road please, I would love to arrive in one piece."
His mouth turned into a devilish frown before smirking up at me. "Your wish is my command, ma'am." he drawled. A deep, V shaped frown formed on Luke's forehead as he gazed up in front of him. I turned my whole body towards him, already expecting another one of his lectures.
"It's freezing Annabelle, you don't have to go to work, I'm sure Mrs. Cooper would agree."
I looked at the, white slopes of Roosewood. Yes it was definitely freezing and yes it was definitely snowing. But that's how Roosewood is in December. I rolled my eyes unable to stop myself from cracking a smile. "Stop frowning too much." I breathed while tracing my fingers down his forehead.
"You, will get wrinkles, and that would be pretty tragic wouldn't it?"
Luke's eyes glistened before he mimicked a girlish gasp.
"How dare you Annabelle McCaine, don't you have no manners what's so ever, insulting me like that!"
He flipped his imaginary long hair before continuing to drive. I wrinkled my nose, not able to keep myself from laughing out loud. Once again another beaming smile formed itself on my face. "Luke, you would make one very feisty girl you know !"
His head shook in defeat.
"I know its hard to be me, I'm a man of many talents." I rolled my eyes but silently agreed. Yes, Luke Gregory is a man of many talents. My man and boyfriend. But the truth is he's just not him. He's not Simon. He's not my Simon.
