Chapter 9: Best Friends

She grew taller from the last time I saw her. I wish I can say she looks more mature, but she doesn't. She's still wears her famous stilettos and her way too small crop top. The only thing she's wearing that's looks modest is some black skinny jeans. She still wears that smirk I've become to hate over time. She struts down to the cashier to order her stuff. My anger starts to slowly boil inside of me.

After two years, you'd think the Queen Bitch would get off her high horse and grow up. Besides, what is she doing here anyway? I thought she moved away after high school?

After my little "accident", she started to really bully me. I don't know if she hit her head or if she's just really stupid, but you'd think she wouldn't mess with me after what happened. Not like I would be able to get her back anyway. The Luna made it very clear that I am not allowed to shift into my wolf. Ever. I would go into more detail, but that's a story for another day. When Queen Bitch gets her order, she turns around and we make eye contact. She smirks at me, walking up to my table.

Lord help me.

She sits in the seat Sara was previously in, smirking at me still. She takes a sip of her drink before speaking.

"Long time no see Lexi" I roll my eyes.

"It's Lexa, Amber." She glares at me.

"It's Ashley."

"Whatever Ally. What are you doing here anyway?" Her smirk comes back.

"So I heard your mates with James." I narrow my eyes at her.

"That's Alpha to you." She shrugs her shoulders at me.

"As if you don't remember, James and I are best friends." I roll my eyes again. Andrea always talked about how James and her were like the best of friends in high school. I never really believed it until James one day ,a couple months back, told me himself he knew her. Ever since then, I haven't heard him talk about her. At first I was a little jealous when James talked about how him and Alyssa talked about everything with each other and such. But then I shook it off. He's my mate and he cares for me.

"Yeah, so what?" I really didn't want to talk to her right now. My mood was already down since James didn't come home last night, I really didn't need Amanda's negativity right now. When I get no answer from her, I roll my eyes at her and stand up to leave. When I start to walk away, I hear her high pitched voice from behind me.

"Be careful Lexa." I stop in my tracks and look behind me to glare at her. She's still seated in the seat, smirking at me while sipping her drink.

"What's that suppose to mean Amy?"

"I'm just saying, you don't want James to leave you for someone better." My eyes then and there turn into slits. My normal eye color brown turns into a bright blue that can blind anybody.

My wolf is trying to surface, but it can't. Not again.

I get into Alisha's face with a death glare that could send someone six feet under in seconds. But for some reason, she doesn't seem at all fazed.

"You listen to me and you listen clear. But the FUCK off of James, or we are gonna have some problems. Do you hear me?" After a few seconds of pure silence, Angie finally answers with a huge smirk.

"Loud and clear."
