"Aaaaaannnnddddd, just one more line. Finished." I smiled at my work, placing my hands upon my lap. I sigh as I push my chair back as I run a hand in my red hair.

"It took me longer then I expected to finish that.." I say looking up at the large clock standing on the doorway wall. I reach for my laptop bag and close my laptop, sighing as I slip it in the bag, hurrying out the door. Rain pelted on the sidewalk, making me wish I brought a umbrella with me.

Living in London, weather liked to change when you least expected.

"Damn rain!" I yelled out to no one in particular , my hair sticking to my neck and face. My arms wrap around my body, trying to keep myself warm in this cold weather. "S-so cold..." I whisper, pulling my phone out, seeing if I could call my best friend. See if he will drive me.

"Hey, Al, what are you doing calling me so late?" Jacobs voice sounded sleepy through the phone, making me feel really bad.

"I'm sorry, but I need a ride. It's pouring rain outside!" I call back, yelling into my phone, rain making it harder to speak .

"It's three in the morning Alice!" He yelled back, I could hear him sighing as he got out of what I presumed is his bed. "Fine, you're near your work?" He sighed again, I could hear a jingle. " Yes, please hurry, I'm getting a total wave of rain over here." I laughed, shivering. "Alright, I'll be there in about ten minutes ." he says hanging up the phone, leaving me cold and wet.

Time skip--

I was sitting on a wet bench, listening to the sound of my music in my headphones. I sighed as I looked at the time, 3:56?! Jacob was suppose to be here an hour ago! I stopped my music as I looked up, the rain had stopped. Maybe I'll just give him a call.

Pulling myself up from the bench, I huffed, blowing a strand of my ,now curly, hair from my eyes.

"Jacob! You're an hour late where the hell are you?" I growled into my cell, huffing. But the answer I got, was not from Jacob.

"Hello to you as well, anyway I'm sorry but traffic is hell tonight, hold on doll, I'll be about five more minutes, I brought a warm coat for you to wear." Jacobs voice called on the other end of the phone, sounding rushed.

"Is everything alright?" I asked, wiping a strand of wet hair from my lips as I ask the question. "Yeah, you know I hate being out at this time." Oh yeah, I forgot that Jake had a fear of the dark.

When he was little, my father had dragged him out of the forest at the middle of the night, bleeding and all scratched up. He was unconscious at the time, my mum said to take him to the hospital because of his wounds. She didn't want him to have to get anything removed, from the big gash on his leg, my dad said it would be impossible to move him that far a distance without him dying from bloodloss. Soon enough he was healed up, we let him relax at our cottage for a few months, seeing that he was still in shock from it all. He still wouldn't tell us what happened that night. Cops say that it was a wild animal attack or some random shit they try to make us believe. But what animal would tare up a whole leg , but not kill him?

"Alex? Are you there? I said I'm turning the corner to the bakery right now." I jump from my thoughts and huff. "Yeah, just speed it up J, I'm fucking cold." I say leaning against the window of the bakery, hoping to get some warmth from the heaters that defrosted the windows. Nothing but a little breeze of now cold air hit my hands, making me shiver and sigh in frustration. Damn cold weather.

"Alright I'm here." I smile as I hear his voice call as he says he'll see me in the car. I smile as I hang up the phone, pulling my hair into a tight bun, letting strands fall around my face.

A black car pulls up at the side of the road, water droplets dripping from the paint.

"C'mon!" A panicked voices calls from inside the car, making me huff and run inside , reaching for the jacket that was placed on my seat. "Thanks J, you kinda are awesome." I say giggling as he huffs.

"Yeah.. The first friend you call to pick you up in poring rain at 3 in the bloody morning... You're blessed.." He says before driving on .

Yes I am .
