The car came to a stop as we finally arrived at the apartment , I felt the cold air hit my face as I wrapped my arms around my thin waist, the rain softly hitting my skin.
"We need to head in before it gets to dark..." I say softly, shivering a little as I pull the hood up with a smile on my lips. I could feel the chilled air nipping at my cheeks, leaving a stinging sensation along my pail skin.
"We're coming!" I hear Jake call back from in the car, he steps out as he pulls on a jacket he grabbed from his bag. "Frigging cold out here." He shivers as he sends me a lopsided grin. Keith only smiled at me as he pulled his being onto his long hair.
"Y-yeah." He mumbles as his blue eyes gaze up at the sky. Seeming to be looking into the darkness that surrounded us. I grab hold if his arm pulling him into the doors.
"C'mon there Malibu ken, let's get inside now." I say laughing softly as he gives me a silly look, he pulls his jacket over his shoulders and walks inside dim lights fill the entrance.
It was a casual place, kinda had that fifties vibe. The checkered floor tiles and the vintage looking seats.
"Let's take a seat before we freeze our asses off here." I hear Jake say as he scoots into a chair. His hair matted to his for head.
He looked like an evil dude from one of those movies. Long black hair, mystical eyes that know things but will never say.
Perfect for anyone..
But not me. I mean , I kinda don't think it would be right to date your best friend..
Also being that he can't stop being shaking and controlling around me when it becomes late at night. As if he knows that what happened all those years ago will happen again.
He's afraid that someone he loves will die. And he is afraid that with how much he does research .. He can't ever stop it.

"You know that's wrong, right?" I laugh signing to Kieth.
"But, it could make since." Jake smiles as he pulls his hair into a ponytail. "I mean, just look at it. The sky turns dark at night right? But a dark blue. Same with the ocean.." He smirks taking a bite out of his burger winking at me.
"Still doesn't make any since dumb ass." I say rolling my eyes as I huff. "Anyway, what's the time?" I ask looking at my drink in my hand.
"About three... We should get back soon. "
I nod as I pull the strands of hair from my eyes. "Sorry I called on such a shitty night." I say in a low voice , not really feeling up to the weather, as I know both boys hated the rain added with the dark night .
The storm had seemed to pass us by the time we got back to the house, I was happy to finally be warm and get out of these rain soaked clothes.
I pulled my keys as I unlocked the front door, a gust of warm air filled my fast with a welcoming feeling. The smell of cinnamon and vanilla filled me with comfort as I walked inside.
"You boy's coming inside, or are you two gonna just stand there with your thumbs up your asses?" I laugh softly as I watch the boys rush inside, coats over there heads like some schoolgirl, which in the end makes me laugh even harder.
"I'm gonna take a nice hot shower, you guys settle in, maybe pick a movie? Oh and you can set your socks and shoes near the fire to warm up." I point to the still lit fire, the heat slowly dying down from it.
"Thanks Al, you got any more clothes? Not girly." Jack smirks as he points to his dripping wet clothes, making me shrug. "I'm sure you can look through some of my dads old stuff in the back room. I don't really go in there much." I whisper as I look down, feeling tears fill my eyes as I am reminded of that horrific night all over again.
I don't want to remember.
I want to forget it ever happened.
But I know that's out of the question, as I look up at the old pictures of me as a child that rest on the walls. Making me let out a soft sigh, as I make my way to the bathroom.
I'm sorry for running dad.
