The sun was starting to rise as the ground came closer. A few tears slip down my face. Why did it have to come to this?
{Four Days Ago}
I just got home from work and already any hope for the world that I had disappears, along with the presence of Jack.
I go through my front door, getting my phone out to call Rian. After what felt like an eternity he finally picked up.
"Hey dude."
"Hey," he responded. "What do you need?"
"I just wanted advice. Last night I came home with that guy from the bar, and we did something. I woke up this morning and we had breakfast I left for work and when I came back he was gone. No note. Do you think this was a one night stand? You know I don't do those." I was panicking by now. I hadn't actually thought about what I was going talk about.
"Okay calm down. It is perfectly normal to have a one night stand." Said a different voice, one that belonged to Zack.
"I know but I usually don't. I try to establish a relationship first."
"Well maybe you can create a relationship from the incident."
"You really think so?" I had a hopeful tone in my voice, a sign of weakness is what it would become.
"Depends on the guy, really," Rian said. "You said he stuck around for breakfast?"
"Yeah."
"Who cooked?"
"He did."
"Well that gives you hope. It means he at least didn't just stay to be polite because you made him food."
"I guess..."
"Well do you know where he lives?"
"I think, I don't remember much of last night."
"Well if you can remember, call me back. The bar is closed tonight so we could go on a double date or something."
"I'll let you know. Bye Rian, bye Zach."
"Bye," they said simultaneously. I laid down on my soft burgundy couch with the Maruchan I made while talking. I tried to remember last night, when there was a knock on my door.
"Come in."
"That's dangerous, I could be a serial killer." Said a familiar voice.
"Well you wouldn't of knocked if you were a serial killer."
"Touche." Jack said. "So I left my key hear this morning."
"Well, I wanted to talk to you, so this works out perfectly.
"What did you need to ask?"
"Would you want to go on a double date with me and my friends Rian and Zack?" I blushed while looking at the ground. I was so nervous that he would say no, that I was a one time thing.
"Sure." I perked up at this.
"Really?"
"Really." He tilts my head up to face his. "I think your cool and I would be lucky to date you. Plus I don't really do the whole one night thing."
"Neither do I. So I'll call Rian and see when to pick you up."
"I live across the hall, so see ya later."
"Bye." And with that he was out the door leaving me alone with my thoughts. I texted Rian and found out eight is the time of the date. It was only four so I had some time before I had to get ready. I decided to put a movie on and continue eat my noodles.

I am running towards a light. I don't where I am. But I know I'm going the right way. I hear my sister's voice. She's calling for me. I can't find her. All I see now is darkness. Nothing feels right. Why can't I just find her?
A different voice sound from further with the darkness. The sound being dampened. It's Rian. I know it is. Their voices play with each other confusing me to wits end. It's getting harder to tell who's who. Then a third voice gets add to the mix. Zack's.
His voice is isolated compared to the other two, yet I can't make out what he is saying. His voice starts to fade into the other's until I can make out what they are saying, "walk forward." The phrase is repeated over and over again. So I do just that. I seem to walk into the mouth of a old gold mine. And the darkness leaves. In it's place is the shine of the ore in the walls. I walk further into a free fall. I realise I'm in a silver mine. Five hundred feet down. I brace for impact but feel no pain. Instead I hit a cool liquid. I open my eyes hoping it is water, but it is too thick, it was blood. And when I look up I see my sister looking down on me. "Blood is thicker than water!" Is all she said before she disappeared into thin air.
"Blood might be thicker than water, but oil is the thickest of them all. I'm the man that keeps you from going broke because you would spend all your money on booze but I pay what you don't so you can keep being around me, I would miss you man." I was hearing Rian's voice and I was now standing in a desert with oil dripping from above me, and Rian below. I didn't have time to respond before he disappears.
The last voice appears. I was expecting this. But I wasn't expecting his words. "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. You are my best friend, you need to make the right decision without interference.." And then he disappears, making me question what his words mean? What decision? I notice that the room is light blue in color a warmer feeling than the others. And that's when the room changes again. But this time not as serenely. An ocean of electricity comes up to my shoulders. I don't feel a single sting or spark, but I can't say the same for the three other people in the room with me. I notice we are no longer alone after about five minutes. Jack is on the other side of the sparkling death trap and he too is not showing any sign of pain.
"Choose." I knew what he meant, but I gave him a confused look anyway.
"Pick who lives." Again I tried to be naive, but he saw through my facade.
"I can't."
"You must." I think about the one sided conversations with me and try to think clearly. Well I already know that this Rian is a asshole, and my sister just tried to intimidate me, but Zack just told me to do what's right. I think I know my decision.
"Zack." Rian and my sister fall into the depths and are gone in a heartbeat, and the electricity is as well.
"You choose to not let the sins of greed and wrath control you, and for that I commend you." Says Jack then disappears into the mist.

I woke up in a cold sweat, wondering what the hell I just had experienced.
