A/N: Hi there you beautiful person you. Welcome to my first fanfic :)
Okay I'm letting you know right now that this prolouge Chapter isn't really as interesting as the rest of the fic bc it's all exposition and it doesn't have our boys in it yet. You could probably even skip this chapter (though, it does make the girls' friendship clearer for later).
So go on fellow reader, fulfill your destiny and please don't forget to vote or drop a comment if you enjoy it. :)
Finally, after months and months of begging, Shay, Gaby, and I were somehow able to convince our parents to let us stay in New York City by ourselves for “college-visiting” and sightseeing. We were only Juniors, but we felt that it was never too early to look into our education.
At least I did.
The other girls just wanted to explore the “real world” and have some fun. I get worried about them sometimes.
Let me tell you, it wasn't easy convincing the adults at all. Actually that was a lie; it wasn't easy convincing most of the adults.
Shay's parents were a totally different story; they'd let her do anything.
When I first met them, they even insisted that I called them by their first names, Colette and Dave. That was way back when they moved here from Paris during my 6th grade.
I'll admit it, my first impression of Shay wasn't a very nice one. At first, I thought she was just an overconfident, dramatic, pretty-girl. Now I realize that I was really just jealous of her. I still am, a little bit. Honestly, who wouldn't be?
She has gray eyes and straight blonde hair that accentuates her dark brows. Her high cheekbones are brushed with these subtle freckles that she always claims to be embarrassed over.
Over the years, she's really outgrown me... she's now a whopping 5'9” compared to my 5'4”. I know, how does that even happen, right? On top of that, she manages to stay skinny no matter how much junk food she eats! (and trust me, she eats a lot.)
Frick her and her good-metabolism genes.
She could easily be a model, as anyone who sees her reminds her, but she always politely refuses. She claims that the acting bug had bitten her long before she grew out of her "awkward phase", which I actually still have yet to see any proof of.
She's a born actress, a theater junkie.
In middle school, there weren’t really that many cliques, but if I had to classify myself into one, I'll be the first to admit that I was in the nerd herd (and still am today actually). I actually loved solving math equations and doing chemistry experiments. I know, I know. I'm a weird child.
Suffice to say, I'm not one to have introduced myself to this interesting new girl.
Luckily, I didn't have to.
The first day Shay came, the whole school was abuzz, unsurprisingly. She still had her gorgeous looks, just in a smaller, cuter form.
All the boys instantly had crushes and all the girls filled with jealousy. Everywhere she went, everyone was always gawking and whispering.
Of course, everyone was too intimidated to come directly up to her and talk to her, with the exception of a few cocky boys, who became her temporary best friends (but she's still close with them today too).
I don't think that she quite minded the staring, but when she started to realize that her only friends would be a group of boys, she started caring (oh that rhymed lol).

FanfictionPretty. That is the word you would use to describe my two best friends. Not that their lives would be described quite as nicely. In fact, their lives have never been "nice". But they sure are attractive though. Unlike me. Mediocre. At best. Aft...
