The Danger That Lies Ahead

Chapter 1 (A New Life)

Looking out the window of my new apartment made me wonder if I can really do this. But I had to face the facts, I was a broke runaway teenager. ( Flashback begins) After all that has happened to me, I don't think I can get over that day when I saw my own mother die in front of my very eyes. I have been through it all. I knew nothing about making a living. I lived off of greasy fast foods that, The Lenny's Bar threw out at the end of the day. Sometimes when the food didn't fill me I would have to cry myself to sleep. ( Flashback ends) But that was then and this is now.
It was the beginning of a fresh new start, of a new identity and a sort of stress free life. I woke up at 4:45 early this morning. I had to get ready for work at The Lenny's Bar as a waitress. You may be wondering why I couldn't do have gotten a better job, but it isn't as easy as it sounds. With no diploma it was a struggle to even get a job as a waitress! But I am way to embarrassed to explain how I got that job. Maybe i'll have enough courage in another chapter to say. But I am getting way ahead of myself. After I got up I took a shower, got dressed and headed to work.
