Beauty and the beast (Asriel X reader)

Rhythm and suspicion

She froze not knowing what to say to him as well as Asriel. Catching her dancing made him a blush a bit. "I was just practicing some moves..." she stopped. From all the embarrassment she wanted to slam the door and hide in a closet but she knew it was just her imagination and that she had to keep contact with reality.

"When you dance you have to put your heart to it, not remember the moves" he said. (Y/n) was surprised by Asriels statement "You know how to dance?" She asked with full curiosity. Asriel nodded as he set the papers aside and walked up to (Y/n). He took her hand and put his paw around around her waist making her blush multiple shades.

"Keep calm and follow your partner (Y/n)" he told her. Keeping calm she followed his steps as they both moved around the room. Soon they were dancing around the room, all that was missing was music, birds were singing creating a pleasant atmosphere. For her the birds were the music. (Y/n) spun around and put her hand on his shoulder, she forgot how it felt to dance. Feeling her body move to the rhythm with a partner.

After finishing their little dance she rested her head on his chest making Asriel blush lightly from her action. (Y/n) looked into his eyes, Asriel didn't know how to react seeing her warm smile while holding her. Asriel leaned closer to (Y/n)'s face, a lost feeling coming back to him.

Suddenly he snapped back to reality and let her go. Asriel turned around, grabbed his papers and walked away leaving (Y/n) confused. He walked down the corridor 'What was I thinking?!' He told himself. Asriel stopped in his tracks rethinking what he did "Oh I was supposed to ask her something but how? She is probably mad at me" He whispered to himself.

(Y/n) was in her room thinking why he went off like that without a word "Did I do something wrong?" She asked herself. (Y/n) noticed a paper Asriel left by accident. She took it and began to read it.

'(Y/n) is showing kindness to others I'm still trying to figure out why. I'm having suspicions on her, one of hypothesis is that she may bring the humans here, she may be gaining my trust. I can't get fooled for her. It would be best if I keep away from her and not socialise with her but I may gain useful information if I do'.

(Y/n) was shocked by what she read so far. "He...doesn't trust me?" She said out loud without thinking. Suddenly she heard footsteps and decided to hide the paper in a random drawer. Asriel came back to her room "I'm sorry I went-" "It's fine" she cut him off. "I wanted to ask you something" he began.

(Y/n) had a few ideas on what he could ask "What is it?" She asked waiting for Asriel to ask the question. "I didn't want to ask anyone else since their not human so I came to you. Can you tell me how human souls work?" He asked. (Y/n) was surprised but was still suspicious.

"Well, we have human souls that are similar to yours but at the same time they're different" she began. Asriel stood in the doorway ready to take notes "Wait why do you want to know?" She looked at him. "I couldn't find them in any other books and still your a human so you know human souls" he answered. (Y/n) continued to tell him about the souls but had regrets.

After a little lesson about human souls Asriel got all the information he needed "Thank you" he said and walked away. (Y/n) waited a bit until he was out of sight and headed to the library. Once she reached it she scanned every book to find anything about human souls. She found a book containing useful information that she didn't know about her soul. 'I knew he lied'.

"Hello (Y/n) what brings you to the library?" Alphys asked. "Oh just looking at some books" she replied with smile. "You like science?" She pointed at the science shelf that (Y/n) was currently standing by. "I like every type of book and genre, I'm just gonna take this book, bye Alphys" she quickly walked out. (Y/n) covered the title of the book so no monsters will be suspicious. Finally she reached her room, closing the door she sat at her desk and began to read.

Asriel got to his room and set the folders to the side. Using his magic he summoned his soul, the white and red soul appeared. The tint of black, last part of Chara's existence was in his soul. Asriel tried to separate Chara's part but he knew there would be chances of him dying. Ignoring the risk he tried, a giant pain filled his body and he stopped. The soul returned back to his chest as he fell on the floor.
