Taken: Chapter 1

Casey Carlyle's POV

April 17, 1998

It all started on Thursday at school. It was fifth period and lunch was next. Me, my boyfriend Kyle, and my best friend Rya all walked to lunch that day. I walked up to the lunch line when Little Miss Perfect Aleigha waltz in with a hi lo floral skirt, ballet flats and a crop top. At school crop tops are prohibited but she couldn't care less! So, I was next in line to order my lunch when Aleigha came up right in front of me and ordered lunch. "What the heck are you doing, I was in front of you and there's no cutting" I said. She just glanced at me like I was invisible! After she finished I ordered lunch, walked over to my table and sat down. I felt something under my chair so I got up and looked down to see that I sat right on a big puddle of RED PAINT. I looked over and saw Aleigha and her clique laughing. And it just so helps it that I was wearing white high waisted short that day! I ran out to the bathroom wear Rya accompanied me. I started to cry because when I left the cafeteria everyone laughed. And this isn't the first time Aleigha pulled a prank or made a fool out of me in front of the whole entire student body!

April 18, 1998

Since today is Friday me and my friends are gonna head over to Pinnocio's Pizzeria after school. We always hang out there. When the bell rang I went to my locker and got my books and backpack. After I went to Rya's locker and then to Kyle's. I got my drivers license 4 months ago on my 16th birthday so we all got in my car and drove to Pinnocio's . When we arrived, we walked in and Kyle went and got us a seat. I walked up to the counter and ordered one large pizza, half was extra cheesy pizza with one quarter onions and the other quarter pepperoni. I like onions and extra cheese and Kyle and Rya like pepperoni but they don't really mind. I got the pizza and walked to our table. I went back up to the counter and got 3 large Coca Cola sodas. I went back to our table to dig in.

April 19, 1998

Today is Kyle's Birthday so I wanted to surprise him with this new high tech digital watch that cost $175. I got in my car and drove to his house, half way there I thought maybe I should have called to tell him I was coming over but that would spoil the surprise. I arrived and rang the door bell and waited a minute. Nobody answered but I saw his moms car and his car in the driveway. Seven years ago Kyle's dad passed away so he lives with just his mom. I rang the doorbell again and his mom answered. She was dressed in a yellow robe with yellow and white striped pants and she was holding a box of tissues. "Are you ok Mrs. Chez" I asked as she gestured me to come in. "I was fine yesterday but it seems I have a cold" Mrs. Chez answered. "Kyle is upstairs, you can head up if you wanna" Mrs. Chez conveyed. I walked up the stairs to Kyle's room as I entered the room I saw Kyle and Rya kissing. I stood there for about a minute when a breeze from the window across the hall entered the room and Kyle looked up. He sat their in amazement. I threw the watch at him and he said I can explain but I just ran down the stairs passed Mrs. Chez who I couldn't tell if she was awake so I just ran out, got in my car and drove away. I started crying so hard that it was hard to see where I was going. I arrived home and ran up stairs to my bedroom. About three hours later when I called down I decided to go down stairs and get me dinner, it was about 8:40 pm. I sat down and turned on the tv. Just as I finished eating I heard a call from up stairs. It was my mom. I walked up stairs and in her room. I sat down and my mom began talking. "You better sit down for this."
