Natsu tapped his foot against the ground, the relentless thudding thankfully being inaudible to everyone around him. He glanced around the huge broadway like auditorium, trying to mesmerize it's interior.
"Erza Scarlet." the said girl walked up to the stage and sat in the chair that was placed dead center of the stage. She closed her eyes as she awaited the announcer to broadcast her new house.
"Fairy Tail!" he shouted, flashing a paper with the Fairy Tail emblem, which was a fairy with a tale. She sighed in relief and smiled to the audience, walking towards the column with the Fairy Tail colors. She ran into a blue haired guy's arms, he was probably her boyfriend or something.
"Juvia Lockser."
"Loke Lion."
"Gray Fullbuster."
"Gajeel Redfox."
"Natsu Dragneel."
Natsu gulped, clutching his pants and slowly standing up. He walked up towards the stairs of the stage and stumbled into the chair. His eyes darted around the auditorium, not knowing where to look.
Lucy said that the new house he would be sorted in would be like family. When she said Fairy Tail, there was a blanketed warmth in her voice, like the heat from a fireplace in the winter. He thought maybe that was where he belonged, where there was a warm feeling of family.
While walking with Gray he also aquired some information on the other houses.
Lamia Scale was where the more humble and kind people went, and most of them passed their entrance exam with their herbology knowledge.
Saber Tooth members were usually the more ruder and brute people. People who were placed in Saber Tooth most likely got in with their science knowledge, them especially being good at explosive resolutions. They were typically known for their moto, "It doesn't matter how, just win."
Raven Tail was where the classier and know-it-all people were placed. They were also known to the house the more silent but deadly people so Fairy Tail and Saber Tooth students prefer to avoid them when possible. Lamia Scale students were the only people who'd blindly hang out with a Raven Tail student.
Finally Fairy Tail was where the really smart and advanced people were placed. They usually got accepted in because of their knowledge in everything and their athleticism. They were known to house the most destructive, competitive, and athletic people in the entire school. Fairy Tail and Saber Tooth were old time rivals.
Natsu could feel the sweat dripping down his forehead. Why was the announcer taking so long to say which house he was in? Everyone else seemed to flow by so quickly, he could only wish his felt that way. It was like the world turned to slow motion as the announcer reached into a creamy white colored envelope and pulled out a folded sheet of paper.
"Fairy Tail!"
Natsu breathed a breath of relief, a feeling of happiness swelling over his chest. He'd been put in the most positive house in the entire school, and he couldn't be happier. He walked off stage with a smile.

Natsu looked around the cafeteria, trying to find a place to sit. The assembly took up all of the morning classes so right after it ended the lunch bell rang. Natsu felt his stomach rumble as he gazed upon all of the packed meals and school lunches he saw soread out on each table. He was in such a rush this morning that he forgot to pack a lunch.
"Did I even eat breakfast?"
He silently sulked and sat under a tree in the courtyard area right outside the cafeteria. His stomach wouldn't stop growling and he didn't wanna make anyone in there feel obliged to give him some of their food. It'd only worsen his mood knowing that people already started to pity him on the first day.
