It took a bit for Lincoln to gather himself after Peter left. When he did, we headed back home. He didn't stay, just walked me to the door before kissing me on the forehead and heading back to his car. Dad placed his hand on his shoulder as he passed him giving him a small sad smile. Lincoln just nodded and continued to his car. When dad reached me he wrapped his arm around me and we went inside.

The rest of the day and evening passed quietly. Ferg came over after school and we watched a new series called Being Human. Apparently there is an american version as well but he refuses to even watch it. When he left, I went to bed, feeling exhausted.

I was running late for school the next day, so dad offered to give me a ride. I managed to enter the school as the warning bell rang. I decided to skip going to my locker and headed straight to PE. I stumbled through the day feeling half numb. Lincoln wasn't here today, and I really felt Peters absence. Especially during PE. Soon enough school was over and dad was picking me up to bring me to my first counseling appointment.

"How was school?" Dad asked, as he was driving out of the school parking lot.

"It was fine." I answered softly, looking out my window. "A little lonely in PE, but Marsha and Ferg kept me company."

"How was Lincoln doing today?"

"He wasn't at school. He texted me and told me he was taking the day off but he would pick me up for school tomorrow." I said. Dad nodded his head.

We drove the rest of the way in silence. I was nervous about this appointment. I didn't know what to expect. I wasn't so sure about how comfortable I was just spilling my secrets to not only a somewhat stranger, but she happens to be Lincoln's mom as well. My stress level was increasing the closer we came to the office building. Dad pulled into a parking spot and turned off the car. We sat there for a while in silence, just looking at the building.

"At some point we do need to go in there." Dad finally broke the silence. I let out a long breathe that I didn't even know that I was holding.

"Yeah." I replied, not moving.

"Let's start by leaving the car, then we can see where that leads?" Dad asked. He opened his door and quickly left the car, walking over to my side he opened my door and held his hand out for me. I looked up at him and gave him a small smile before taking his hand and leaving the car. Step one completed. I held on to dads hand like it was a life line. In a way I wasn't far off, Dad is my life line. I slowly started to walk towards the building, dad keeping my pace, not rushing me, but going the pace I needed. Entering the building I saw the same guy at the front desk who was here last time. He looked up from the computer and smiled warmly at us.

"Good Afternoon, do you have an appointment?" He asked.

"Yes, Justine DeMont to see Dr Hudson for 4 o'clock." Dad said smiling back. Recognition lit up his face and his eyes darted back to me as his smile widened.

"Of course, I'll let the Doctor know you are here. Have a seat and she will be out momentarily." He said, picking up the phone and pressing a button on it.
