Chapter Two:
Honour's POV
I never really understood why women were so effected by men, even though our countries were thousands of miles apart. Male merchants have always traveled to our country, trying to find goods, love, or even just a one night stand. I'm fairly against men coming to us for things instead of getting it themselves but their reproductive organs are needed in reproducing, which is needed to make more of us. When a women gives birth to a male, we have the man who got her pregnant sent out of the city with the child, never to return. Not because he was a bad person, he just didn't give us what we want. Men who give us female children to carry are allowed to leave with goods.
Women here in Desfronladenmare are not cruel but wise and stick to what they think, stubborn basically. The stupid women are sent to live on their own outside of the country not because of their IQ but in order to live in Desfronladenmare, you have to be strong and willing to put up a fight. We don't fight like men, no, we fight with words and judges to see who's right. That doesn't mean that we're always fighting, most of us are friends and are kind to each other. We share food with women who cannot afford food or we hang out with women who are lonely. It keeps our city alive and caring. We're taught that men are only used for children and if you fall in love with one, you leave with him. And the world outside of Desfronladenmare is terrifying, with all the creatures and monsters and unfamiliarness. Only few women have left the country, only to find death. Even though women are strong and can defend our country easily, we're not strong without others. And without others, we don't know what to do, and that is our only weakness.

I've lived in the city all my life, being the daughter of a proud and wealthy mother who made her living serving the Queen by taking out her every quest and order and doing it well. I wasn't so lucky as a child as every other girl was. My mother was strict and mean, not caring or sympathetic at all. If I did something wrong, my hands were slapped and I was sent to my room. If I did something right, I was given a nod of approval; which wasn't very often seeming as I was and currently am a clumsy person. I constantly dropped dishes or fell onto furniture, spilling things. Every other girl in my class was a spoiled brat, making it hard for me to fit in. I never once had a friend growing up. Not until I turned 16. That year, my mother died, leaving me everything. I didn't know what to do with it, having not been given many things unless I needed it growing up, so I went to the Queen for help, because she ever-so-kindly helped my mother when she needed help. Her Majesty told me to go traveling and map out everything I see, so I did. By myself.
I traveled to West, a country of elves, just north of Desfronladenmare. There, I met Bianca, an elven dancer, who made only enough money to feed herself. She told me she had always wanted to be a scholar, like the few in the elven castle, but she didn't know how to read like everyone else in her country except scholars. So, I taught her to read and told her of many great scholars in Desfronladenmare and their theories and then left her to face her dream.
After West, I kept traveling north and then west, (what I found funny is that West is located in the east), meeting a lot of people, helping them, collecting knowledge from them. I did not, in fact, found out how the world was scary like we were taught in school. I saw it as fascinating, and I wanted to show everyone else in my country the same. I kept a journal of my journey, writing down every detail I could, so I could have proof.
But I never could now. Now I'm locked in this dark, cold prison, captured by the men from Desfronmenare. I am scared and hungry and cold. The men had striped me of my clothes and left me here. I wonder if the Queen knew this would happen.
