Chapter Five:
Alec's POV
I was fully, madly, and inevitably in love with Honour; though she doesn't know. I had tried so many times to tell her, and all I get it is a friend-zoned 'aw, I love you too dude'. Many people have mistaken us for a couple, though she makes it clear we're not. I make it so clear but she never gets the point, even when I kissed her cheek. After kissing her cheek, it was kind of a panicked moment though, with the black lines moving onto me. They don't affect me as much as they affect her, which is awful because she can't take as much as she thinks she can. I try to play it off cool and calm her down but on the inside, I'm have a panic attack.I only have the attacks at night when I'm sleeping, like tonight for instance.
I was dreaming about Honour, but not in a good way. Her skin was just pale, no lines visible. Her hair was a deep red, like before the witch. She was really beautiful, but different. We were just hanging around the hollow, like it was a normal day. She wore a normal simple dress that went down to her knees, and had her hair up to show her face. Her hair was still really long and went all the way down to her calves. She was raiding through the cupboards as usual and sensed something she couldn't reach. But the weird thing was, she called for my help, and not just to pick her up so she could get it, but for me to get it for her. And she had me grab something healthy which was totally unlike her.
The scene changed to us in the living room. It was hard to tell if it was night or not because of the constant darkness, but the fire was going. What was weird about this scene was that we were reading to ourselves. She suddenly got up and moved to sit by me, staring me in the eyes. I had set my book down and turned to her, wondering what she was going to say. But I couldn't breathe. She started to open her mouth and her eyes were black, like they are when she wakes up in the morning. She unhinged her jaw though and I started screaming, but being unable to breathe, it was difficult. She leaned towards me, black lines swirling out of her mouth and onto her skin and into her hair.
I was shaken awake by a crying Honour. Her eyes were black, meaning she had just woken up, and her tears were black, meaning nothing but she was just crying. I quickly sat up, but groaned in pain. The lines were tight around my body and my face. She was still shaking me, clearly frightened. "I'm up, I'm up," I said, grabbing her arms and pulling her into an embrace. My white shirt slowly went black from the inky tears. "What's wrong?" She was hiccuping and sniffling. "The-there's a ma-man outside a-again." She stuttered. "Then why are you crying?" I lifted her onto the bed and sat her down next to me. She pointed to her leg, which had a deep hole in it, and black was oozing out instead of blood. "He has a gun and when I came to the door, he called me a demon and shot me." I instantly stood up and grabbed my pants off the floor, pulling them on. "Call for Evelyn." I said as I flew out of the room and down the stairs to the door. When I opened it, I saw a dark figure. I pushed him down and pulled off his cloak, revealing his face to me. He had sandy blonde hair and fear in his eyes, his hands up to block anything from his face. "You're not him." I said, anger clear in my voice. "Where did he go?" The man shook his head. "I have no idea what you're talking about." He said. "I just wanted to see if Honour lives here." I gave him a dirty look. "And if she does?" I saw another figure walking towards us and the hollow. I lifted my sword, which I had grabbed from the umbrella thing that Honour insists we have, and pointed it at the stranger. "Relax Hot Shot," Evelyn said, taking the hood off of her bald head. "It's your sister." She walked right past me and into the hollow. I looked back down at the man, his hands still up. "I met her in the dungeon," he said. "I just wanted to know if she got out okay. Are you her husband or boyfriend or brother?" I laughed. "No, I'm her roommate." I told him, stabbing my sword into the ground next to his head. "Get up. I was looking for the man who just shot her." He got up, dusting himself off. "And how did you know it wasn't me?" I picked my sword back up, waved for him to follow me, and walked back into the hollow. "Your build is wimpy and you look harmless." He looked offended, but followed.
When we got inside, Honour was on the kitchen table, being healed by Evelyn. Evelyn was the only on around for miles who knew dark magic, the only thing that can heal Honour. Honour wore her silk robe and nothing underneath, which was clear with it hanging off her shoulders. Her eyes were still black and black goo was on the table and black was smeared on her face. She sees black a lot, to say the least. When the man saw her, he jumped back and yelled. "What happened to her?" He said, moving back whilst staring at her. She looked down, clearly shamed. "I told you, she was shot." I said, angry with his reaction. I moved over to her and rubbed her arm with the back of my hand. "Are you okay?" I asked quietly. She nodded, cringing whenever Evelyn touched her. "Hi Sebastian," She said softly, wiping her face, trying to get rid of the black but just smearing it more. "I'm not as pretty as I was before, now am I?" He shook his head. Trying to reach the door. But I stopped him.

"So you and Evelyn are twins?" Sebastian asked, sipping cocoa. We nodded, Evelyn also sipping her cocoa and me stirring Honour's while she went to get marshmallows. "Are you sure you don't want cocoa?" Evelyn asked me while Sebastian chugged his. I shook my head while Honour yelled from the kitchen. "No, he doesn't like chocolate. And Alec?" We heard a loud crash and a "Nevermind!". I stood up, setting down the cocoa and stretching. I walked over to the kitchen where half of the food we have was piled on the small girl. "I'm fine," she said, only her hand sticking out of the mess. "I'm fine." She repeated as I grabbed her hand and lifted her out. She was holding the mallows when I pulled her out and quickly ran to get them to the others. I stayed behind, cleaning up the mess. I heard some chatter and the familiar voice of Honour yelling. "What do you mean you're finished? You didn't have mallows with it."
I walked back to see Honour and Sebastian asleep next to each other and Evelyn reading one of my books. Honour really seemed to like Sebastian, even though they were on bad terms in the dungeons, apparently. I didn't like how he had his arms wrapped around her and her head on his shoulder, so I picked her up and carried her to bed. She acts like a child a lot without trying, but it shows how comfortable she is with me. I left Sebastian in the uncomfortable position he was in and went to bed myself, leaving Evelyn to do her own thing.
