I watched her from afar, taking her seat next to Heaton. She looks so different now that she’s not wearing any heavy makeup. I sensed there are guys around her who wanted to get next in line.

What is this feeling?

I noticed Heaton smile, and stood up. Goth girl raised two fingers and her lips curved into a smile. He then left her.

This is my chance.

Wait, what would my opening line would be?

Damn it. I’m too nervous.

I walked slowly to her direction, ready to punch whoever gets in my way.

“Hi Leviii! Want to dance?”

“The fuck Hershey!? You startled me!”
I looked back at Goth Girl’s direction, and saw a man talking to her already.

“Hershey, I have a game for you. See that guy?” I told her.

I know Hershey Penter too well. She’s been in most of my classes.

“Yeah, why?”

“The game’s like this, seduce him, and survive for the night, and you win.” I said followed by a wink.

“Easy! But what is my prize?”

“Anything you want.” I answered.

Hershey must be dumb, but she’s a real boy-magnet.

“Really? Anything?”

“Of course.”

She gave me a smile before she marched at the guy’s direction. I watched her steal the guy’s attention. She played with her hair a bit as she conversed with him. The man suddenly looked back at Goth girl, and said something.

No.
I read her lips.

The man turned back to Hershey, looking a little disappointed. He probably asked Goth girl for a dance. Tch! What a lame line.

Hershey looked at me and raised two thumbs as she walk away with that guy.

I nervously walked to Goth girl’s place as I try to think of words to say. This is it. As I get closer, I felt the weird chill again every time I sit beside her in class.

She looked up to me.

I felt my heart skip a beat.

“Uh..”
Fuck! What do I say?

“May I have this dance?”
This is lame.

“Sorry, I’m sort’a waiting for someone.”

She still chooses that Heaton over me?!

“You owe me a dance.”

“Excuse me?”

“You once told me to never say sorry unless it’s a real crime. Declining someone isn’t a crime.” I confidently answered. “Look, that statement changed me, so if you don’t dance with me now, you just proved me that you’re wrong.” I spoke again.

Handsome, wealthy, and quick wits. What more can you ask for?
At least I’m going to win this by technicality.

She seemed confused, as if she’s having double thoughts.

“Uh.. Who are you?”

She doesn’t recognize me?

“It’s Levi. Come on, please? Just ten minutes.”
