They finally got to the Reichstag but one of the four Russian soldiers had to capture the Reichstag and put up their flag. The four of them had the decide which one of them of going to put up their flag and claim victory for the Motherland. They decided that Viktor should have the honor to put up the red Communist Flag.
Viktor heard someone say to him that "As long as you live... The heart of this army can never be broken."
Viktor and the other three Soviets had become Hero's when they returned to Russia
