Sushi (A Floran x Hylotl Starbound Fanfic) [WIP]

A New Assignment

"Kuroun, wake up! You have work to do!" A loud voice came from the side of the bed, as Karoun opened his eyes and put his glasses on he saw the face of his boss, who looked annoyed down at him "You may be my best employee but that doesn't mean you have the right to sleep whenever you want!"
"Sorry Laeno" Kuroun responded, "I must've forgotten to reconfigure my alarm after the system reboot"
Hearing this made Laeno only more annoyed, "That is the worst excuse for oversleeping I've ever heard. You better get your stuff together, you're going on field duty again" He said.

About 15 minutes later Kuroun had gotten dressed, showered and eaten.
He hurried to Laeno to accept his new assignment, of all the things he loved doing Field assignments were his favorite, Kuroun was unlike other Hylotl, very adventurous, and he loved to encounter various flora and fauna, as well as landscapes.

Once Laeno was aware of Kuroun's presence, he looked up at him and showed him a picture with a planet, "Your next assignment is on a Mutant planet, so be sure to gather all survival things you need. You will be working with a group of Apex and some of your colleages, Talios, Heina and Forges. I will prepare your Radiation Enviroment Protection Packs. The Augments you use for it is up to yourself"

"May I ask what we are inspecting on this mutant planet, Laeno?" Kuroun responded to his boss' story.
"There have been readings of suspicious activity close to the core and on the surface of the planet" Laeno responded.

"Thank you, I will gather my stuff now" Kuroun said and left the room, walking to his own room to pack some bags, One with clothes, two lab coats, a Hazmat suit and his normal clothes, unlike other Hylotls he prefered to wear more Human-like clothes instead of things like Kimonos.
Another bag with a few working instruments, and one with a few stuffed alien, because what is a Hylotl without as least some of his plushie collection?

Once he was done he made his way to the spaceship dock, where Talios, Heina and Forges were already waiting for him.

Talios had always been considered a smart Hylotl, usually solving things that required math rather than logic.
Heina was one of the few female scientists, she was outgoing and quickly angered, but also very inventive, the last time she got in trouble with a mother poptop she killed it using only some oil and a medkit.
Forges was the most hasty of the three, he wanted things solved quickly, he didn't care if it was solved well, as long as it'd work long enough to let someone else think up a better plan. Forges was usually responsible for quick leakage fixes, stopping the leakage from the engine or possibly even the station's hull until it was properly fixed.

"Pick your Augment, Kuroun. We gotta go in less than an hour!" Forges yelled at Kourun, who was looking through the augments, eventually grabbing a Mobility Augment and applying it to his R-EPP. "I'm Ready!" Kuroun then yelled at the other three Hylotl, who made their way into the spaceship, Kuroun soon followed, exited for his first time on a Mutated planet.
