"I'm down to go, but maybe some other time-" he paused for a second then continued. "I have to babysit, Beth I can't leave that's part of my job," I heard him add. Ethan is in the living room having some conversation with Bethany.

"I can't just leave her, Beth. You should understand," the volume of his voice was raising. I grabbed two glass cups from the cabinet and took out the milk. "You know what... i'm done. I can't do this anymore. You're bossy, possessive, and just in general annoying," I came in with two cups of milk and some Oreos. He hung up and locked his phone, throwing it on the couch.

"Here, my mom says that a glass of milk and some Oreos will hit the spot after a rough day," I said handing him the glass of milk.

He looked up at me and smiled and took the cup from my hands. I sat next to him and took a sip of my milk.

"You didn't do it because of what she did to me, right?" I asked looking at him. "Don't be that stupid,"

"I was gonna do it sooner or later either way," he mumbled, taking a sip from his cup.

"Oh. Ethan, I wanted to talk to you about yesterday... what happened in the kitchen-"

"No, the kiss yesterday... that was a mistake," I just wanna crawl under a rock and probably die. Yeah, that sounds great. I just got up and went to the kitchen.

The kiss was a mistake. Those words kept replaying in my head. I'm so embarrassed, what the hell?

So, us kissing yesterday didn't even happen or what? If it was a mistake I'm just gonna assume that he's gonna forget about the whole thing.

It shouldn't be weird. I could just make myself believe that it never actually happened. I mean I always pretend certain people aren't around at school.

So, it shouldn't be hard. Wait, no actually that's a bad idea. He is looking after me and he also lives with me, sorta.

Yeah, that plan is a no-go.

"I'm gonna go to a party," Ethan's voice suddenly echoed through the kitchen making me jolt.

"On a Wednesday afternoon?" I looked at him confused.

"Listen, I just broke up with a pretty cool girl and I don't need some sixteen year old to be bossing me around. Like I didn't have enough of that," he rolled his eyes making me cross my arms.

"Listen, I'm not some bossy bitch like your ex so don't even try to compare me to her because I'm nothing like her. If anything, you're the one who called her bossy and annoying," I walked past him as I scoffed. What an idiot.

10:00 PM

"Bridesmaids?" I questioned to myself. After a long pause I let out a loud sigh. "Nah, Ima play Haunted House," I clicked the movie and as it started playing I grabbed the empty bowl on the coffee table and went to the kitchen to make some more popcorn. After I came back I placed the bowl beside me on the couch and laid back.

The doorbell went off and then the door opened. I sat straight up and watched the door. Grayson came in making me exhale softly.

"Hey, what you watching?" He asked. My shoulders slouched making me look up at the tv.

"Haunted House. Aren't you supposed to be at a party?" I asked, eyes fixated on the screen.

"Yeah, but I didn't want to go. It's Wednesday and I have a math quiz tomorrow," he responds walking towards me.

"Hm," I hummed.

"Where's Ethan?" He asks after a second of silence.

"Guess," I rested my elbow on the armrest with my cheek in the palm of my hands.
